"Apparantly a lot more programme content and vastly more viewing options.... " Which to be honest is probably wasted on those who merely want to just watch and anlyize the race from the ordinary pictures. The background eg what has happened in the time between races, weather conditions and their effects etc. is usefull I`ll admit but once those red lights go out ........

"ok, seious thread now. now that the coverage is plit betwen the beeb and the devil,we all know the bbc has great coverage (although the commentary is nowhere near the standard murray walker brought along) just wondered, as i dont have sky, is their coverage as good, better or worse?" Those with Sky will say it's better and those without will say the BBC should have it all.. (Generalisation) I don't really care as I stopped watching it when instead of racing it became line astern! Also, when they made it possible to win a race in the pits, instead of racing! Like all reality shows, I believe it is mildly fixed.. Red bull now not as quick as they were? Oh yes, they have had to remove that gizmo they had! (after two years!) And look, what better headline than Mercedes and Rossberg win the race today! Shades of Red Bull two years ago?

Then surely they won't click on those other options?.....after all as they are viewing options they are not compulsory to use.

Maybe not for the die hard F1 fans....of which there are undoubtably many judging by the increased stands they are having to build for the British Grand Prix by all accounts.....due to record crowds being expected.....so maybe not a total waste for many of them? Which is the target audience SKY would have been aiming at....

"I think next year they should just have two tyres to be used for the whole race. Much more exciting! " BUT what about the other 2 wheels

"sky coverage is second to none well worth getting the channel and getting better every race !" Murdock can go swivel, despair giving money to any of that government controlling, power crazy shits, company's Coverage has been great since it came back to bbc from itv. Now that wankers got involved we get highlight packages for certain races. He killed football, cricket now he's got his sights set on F1

The BBC and subsequently the license payer, has no god given right to expect to have a life long contract to broadcast and view content for a pittance..... People expect far too much out of life sometimes....

" Let's not forget that ITV covered F1 for a season or two and it was shite. To be fair, last year's BBC coverage was as good as it gets. What rankles with me and the BBC sports coverage is why do they think we need to see/hear ex sportspeople rabbiting on, at length, both before and after any event. Just use the money to concentrate on the sport, and wider sports coverage like they used to with Wednesday nights Sportsnight." i watch everything before and after the race. its very thorough and in depth. they have current drivers as well such as algersurie (how ever you spell it) and having a former team boss, driver and car designer is a big help and you get an inside insight into what it going on. the sky coverage seems very forced even though most of them are ex bbc. they dont seem to demmand the same respect that BBC do when they go around the paddock. even the highlights show on bbc isnt lacking. you dont miss anything at all. ive watched the sky one and its a bag of cat piss
