"I mentioned that I got a soldier to soldier bracelet the other day and someone said help the heroes has too much money already....felt a bit deflated " who ever said that to you was (pardon my french but a fucking twat and a asshole as well)the men and women that benefit from that charity have suffered things that many of us will never have to and i for one am grateful wholeheartedly to them, they do it for very little money and just want to come home alive and in one piece, freedom is not really free it cost blood and tears and time. its good that there are people out there like you that care.

It was me who had mentioned that Help for Heroes have more money than they know what to do with and that some of the other equally worthy causes such as the Army Benevolent fund and some of the local servicemen charities have lost out due to the publicity that H4H get. I work for the army and my lot have recently returned from Afghanistan - I apologise if I came across as not caring as I care a lot. It was simply to bring to attention other charities that do just as good work as H4H but desperately need funding which has depleted since H4H came into being.

" i'm sorry for my comment about you being those bad things, i don't want to repeat them as i was wrong given what your comment says, as for having more money than they know what to do with......well i just don't know but i did go on their website and it says over 100 million raised and 100 million spent so it would appear they do know what to do with it, any way that's besides the point, i'm sorry for insulting you it was childish and petty

Without swearing at me can you explain why I should choose Help for Heroes as opposed to, say, the British Legion, SSAFA or RAFA or BLESMA or other charities like the Sally Army who also do lots of work with vets?

"I love the soldiers charities (for obvious reasons)...... but the one I love most and Jason supports is..... Combat Stress. Little known and specialised and Prince Charles (don't let that put you off) is their patron. I do, obviously, give a little to each of them and at work, we try to at least all have the wrist bands for them all." And a wonderful choice that is too They help my friends son who has PTSD after tours of Iraq and Afghanistan and are really making a difference to his life It's his mum that is arranging the fun day to raise money and awareness for them that I mentioned earlier, her way of saying thankyou

"Help for heroes has to much money hey?? Not sure my fella who is at Headly court rehab centre after losing both his legs at 24yrs old would agree. The charity does amazing work and every day there are new men and women needing help and support.." I have a friend treated at Headley Court who was attacked in the street for no reason. They do very good work there and I think I got off on the wrong foot with my original comment. I have supported H4H. The only reason I said what I did was that I work in the finance sector for the army and regularly speak to the accounts department at H4H. It was a comment made by one of the people there when I was speaking to them about a fund raising event my unit was doing. They will spend the money raised and do it wisely I'm sure and money they have spent has been worthwhile and I did not mean to diss them at all. Just wanted to raise awareness for other service charities - I know I did it badly and for that I apologise. Heather - I hope that your fella gets the rehabilitation he quite rightly deserves. Meg xx
