little house on the praire

This time last year, my son was doing shitty jobs of about ten hours a week to keep himself of the dole so earnt basically nothing, did have anywhere decent to live. Then he got a break working with alziemers patients that he took too straight away and it was 20 hours a week. He got a room in a shared house, unfortunatly they couldnt offer him full time hours so working for the same company but different section he moved to being a mental health support worker in a residential unit. Moved house to a nice area where him and another lad are sharing a different flat. He was due to have his appraisal at work from the people at head office but his boss phoned them to say dont come down bother coming over as he is doing so brilliantly. Hes just finished some course work, and they are shortly starting him on his first nvq with a mentor. Callum has never been academic bless him and im so proud at last he has the break he deserved

Great news nothing like doing a job you enjoy. Seems like he has learnt the hard way that anything is possible. Great to have a mom that thinks so much of him

Well done to your son and its lovely to hear how proud you are of your child. Caring is a very rewarding career.

Get him to have that appraisal though. Apprasals are positive and worthwhile, after all he wants his achievements recognised and written down

There is an old saying, something about walking up many garden paths before knocking on the right front door in life...it's great to see this young man finding the right door in his life.

You have every reason to be deeply proud of such a great son.....
