It's really something that has had a massive inpact on my life, I know it's not that bad in the scale of things but my hair used to be the only thing I'd ever get compliments on from people but now it's almost gone it's impacted my confidence so much, I struggle to look at myself in the mirror. just wondering if any one else feels this way and how have you delt with it.

Going by my friends experiences:

just shave it all off. Embrace it rather than hide it.

If you don't want to shave it just cut your hair super short.

Your hair doesn't define you as much as your clothes don't.

Job done.

My hairs never been very thick, fine and flyaway only the last few years its become much thinner and more grey in it. Im not happy about it but its part of growing old and just have to accept it. My older siblings who use to have thick hair are just the same now too. Lots of younger men lose their hair early, my husband did, not comletely bald though he does have some. Take a look at Kojac on the telly he was attractive to a lot of women he had a good personality, well dressed and well groomed, just concentrate on your good points. Learning to like yourself is more important than what others think of you. Just to say i met a man who was bald from another site, i liked him he smelt nice, well groomed and his body nice and smooth he said thats because he put baby oil on it.

People treat male hair loss as a bit of a joke when it really isn't.

I'm the female half of this couple and I can tell you I've known Mr N with hair and with less hair. Its made no difference to how I feel about him.

I felt more conscious of it until a I shaved it all off. Now I like the look on me. Besides it only fell out because it was rubbing so much on the Velcro on the bed headboard

When younger I'd have various styles to make it look thicker. Now, sod that. No having to sort it out before going out. Just a shave once a week or if lazy every two weeks

Baldness doesn't bother me. I actually quite like the feel of really short hair on the back of a guys head. The only thing is if it gets too shiny. Maybe try some mattifying moisturiser if it does.

I went bald at 21 and it destroyed my confidence for a long time. As I got older I realised that worrying about going bald was doing more damage than the actual hair loss. How you think about yourself is very important.

Accept your situation, change your hair style to suit, and work on your confidence. Good luck.

Ahh mate. Sorry to hear its getting you down. I had a thick head of hair when younger (now just a thick head!) Its getting thinner so I just shave it off. I thought it would bother me but it doesn't, I tend to forget about it and I work with a tough crowd!

Learn to laugh about it, maybe grow a beard, wear a cap, wear clothes that look good to draw attention away from it.

A smile will do you wonders too.

I always find that those that have taken the leap look better than the ones in denial

I look back at photos of me when I was balding and think I looked a right dick

I was 30 / 31 when mine came off - I should have done it 5 years earlier

So I'm sure plenty of girls will find you very sexy too.

For me its as long as they dress well rather than their hair that turns me on when we meet people. #Mrs

Could you just shave it like blade 3 or 4? Not totally short but enough to get used to it.

Prince William looked better when he shaved it more. I think it's a very brave thing to do.

It's growing normal on the back and sides so I have it at blade 4 there but it's just thinning so fast on the top, so can't really cut it on top very much now. It will be the bravest thing I'll have done when I eventually go full shave. Sounds a bit pathetic to admit that

As a hairdresser I see the impact hair loss has on both men and women. I think for men though, women kind of expect you to be bald at some point because it's really common. That isn't what defines you as a person.. Not at all. And if someone is focusing on the fact you don't have hair in certain places then tbh I don't really think they are the kind of people you want to fuck anyway. Unless you're into arrogant stuck up arseholes.

Although people think sex is all about looks for some people it genuinely isn't. If you look at the people I've been with they massively vary. I'd rather have a good personality than look like a model because looking good only gets you so far.

You have to own your hair loss. Otherwise it will own you. And you will be miserable and less attractive as a result.

If you want to be bald and attractive here's how: embrace it, be open about it, laugh about it and bloody well choose to rock it. You'll then get complimented on it, I guarantee you.

I'm sure most men have gone through this when they realised they were going bald. I certainly did, but shaving it is always best.

Remember the biggest turn off is someone who can't accept themselves. Get it shaved and remember that the most important thing in life is to be healthy (and happy if possible)

Probably the worst thing is the lead up. Once it's done you'll be so relieved. Your friends will gradually be getting used to it anyway. We have a few friends who we knew with hair and now they're bald. They're the same friends they always were.

I don't know whether it's because I started losing it (My hair! Although..) when I was pretty younger, 19/20 but it's never bothered me at all.

Start cutting it short and within a few days people won't even remember, humans have short memories

Oh and I had a very thick mop of hair before it started to fall out

Certainly not pathetic. I’ve been on the journey since i was about 22 so 15 years. Stuck with a grade 2 which evened out the top and the sides but over the past few years its got thinner so took it to a grade 1 about 2 years ago and for the last 6 months a grade 0.5. Will probably stick to that for the moment but I’ve found it a lot easier to take it in steps.

I'm a thick set chap, sport a shaved head, have a few visible tattoos and am commonly seen in the company of a Staffie

I'm also a gentle soul who, whilst I'm not a pushover, I've got a good heart and will give anyone help and support if they need it

I've got a good head on me and got a pretty decent job

Even my own Mum said to me 'people will assume you're rough'

Said to her what I say to others ... never judge a book

Guys can be fantastic when without hair or cropped. Op - if your confidence and self-esteem are lacking, I'd encourage you to focus on developing them, so that you are not reliant on physical traits that are transient. And to be careful that fab use doesn't knock you, as it's tough for all of you single men here
