One of my friends is having dreadful problems getting their son to realise that at 30, it’s time he left home. I think he has it too good there.

I moved out at 24.

The right place

I was eighteen when I went to university and I never permanently went back. It’s a good way to leave home, it’s a fairly gradual process.

I was 16, my now partner was 15.

Though I realize sometimes there's a real need to move back home at an older age, I can't imagine doing it otherwise!

My oldest, when having a teen tantrum, would scream "just wait, I'm moving out of here as soon as I turn 18!!"

Um....yeah, and the problem is...?

I left when I went to uni at the age of 20, I did move back for a short while after but then moved in with my fiancé.

I can't imagine being older living with parents, I was eager for my own space even then!

It's really interesting because I was 16 when I left home and my sister was 17. She's always said though that she wants her kids to stay at home as long as possible because she knows how hard it is to start out on your own at such a young age.

I never went to uni so think it officially was when I was around 26. That said prior to that I'd been in a relationship where I stayed at her house far more than I did my parents so in effect when I was aound 23.

Moved back in when I was around 34 for a few months, fuck me that was tough
