No it isn't another single guys moaning, I am looking to lighten my mood!

I have to give a presentation for promotion at work and one of the questions to answer is what's your motivation. So I thought of no better way to get some inspiration and thought I would ask you guys the same question.

What motivates you?

Needing a wee gets me up in the morning.

Other people relying on me keeps me going.

Your motivation is to work your way up through the company, become rich and powerful and have all the hot chicks throwing themselves at your feet.

I wasn't sure this would be the answer that they were looking for, I was going to lead with coffee sex and power but thought again

Hefty Hideaway

My motivation usually stems from needing to prove myself. That and my bloody sister. If I ever get knocked down she’ll drag me up again whether I like it or not.

Continuously trying to be the best version of myself and always looking for new skills and knowledge.

You can never stop learning

The most powerful motivation, in my opinion, is the motivation to help others.

It then becomes a sort of self fulfilling prophecy and takes on life of its own, as the person you have helped passes on to the next person they help!

No reward or thanks is necessary as a kind gesture is its own reward

I agree, it might make them laugh and lighten the mood. Then you can go on to the serious boring stuff x

Cheeseville, Somerset

Just dangle a decent carrot in front of me and I can get myself motivated to do almost anything.

Cash, fudge cake, a truck load of tangfastics, world peace, reducing global warming, boobs..........

Old dinosaur here, so stuck with the protestant work ethic as ingrained by my parents that other people have hacked tougher stuff so what's your problem?

When life got to be a bitch my old Dad, regular soldier before and during WW2 that he was, used to annoy the hell out of me by clapping me on the shoulder and saying "Play up, play up and play the game".

I was in my late teens when I found out where that saying came from.

Poems by Sir Henry Newbolt :

Vitaï Lampada

It won't fit in with many of the modern revisionists and snowflakes but it does me fine when things are becoming a grind.

Mine barely has time to touch the bottom of my purse before it is never seen again. Its no motivation at all
