Yacht? I'd go with the yacht as you can pull up anchor and bugger off to wherever, without having airports to deal with.

Also, the view is nicer from a yacht than a plane, and you can't fall from the sky.

Yacht. You can't fall 30,000ft out of a boat. If a yacht's engine fails it still floats. You can stop a yacht where ever you like. There's probably plenty more reasons.

I do have a pilots license.

I cant sail, will get someone to do that. But if I get a yacht, wont be doing much sailing...lol

Look at it from an investment perspective.

How many hours will you use it per year?

Whats the maintenance charge per year ?

Whats the idle fees?

Depreciation?

Fuel consumption ?

Enjoyment value?

Personally id go for a plane specifically a honda jet . Theyre hood business tools , not too expensive to purchase and maintain , short take off distance , can stand up and party in them.

One of the best resale values

Yachts you can get cheaper but fuel and insurance will cost you 3% at least pa and they are much harder to sell on

Do a ppl conversion to rotary . A Robinson r22 or r44 more practical than anything fixed wing. If you have the skills and time, build your own, then you can cut maintaince costs to parts only

Does depend what level you’re talking about, however there’s a lot to be said for chartering on both fronts, looking at upkeep costs, running costs and depreciation you won’t work out much better off as an owner unless you’re a really heavy user. Plus you can have the best of the two then!

Having played about with both on the smaller end of the scale, Cessna 172 and 35ft yacht.

I’d say take a look at what sort of guy you are and how your free time looks. More likely to enjoy a quick afternoon of fun, go the plane route, keen on the idea of a few days away from everything, then floating caravan it is!

There’s not a bad choice whichever you go for, just inherently different ways of spending your free time.
