Yes I know it makes me sound like Scrooge but I just don't like all the overly fake joy that people seems to come out with.

Oh and my birthday is xmas day so another reason lol

I don't hate it, but it all starts so early I'm fed up with it by the 25th

Our office Christmas do was in November FFS

Starts way too early for me. Keep seeing family putting up the tree at end of November which is just wrong.

I used to work in a supermarket and they play christmas songs all day, every day in December with the same songs on repeat every 4hrs. Surely that's workplace torture? Lol

I'm not a Christian so I don't celebrate Christmas as such. I do use the Christmas eve, Christmas day and boxing day to celebrate the turning of the year with friends and family though.

I dislike the commercial side of it all. I just nipped in to town to get my last minute gifts and the prices being asked are ridiculous.

After several years working in various shops Christmas songs send me into a near-homicidal rage.

So yeah, it's not my fave season...

Hate it very much.

Commercialisation, Americanisation, fake, forced over spending, forced over eating, everyone uses the excuse" ahhhh it's for the kids the kids live it....."

Then why have Christmas work do's?

People trying to outdo each other ridiculous lighting.

Starts at the beginning of September these days I saw Christmas stuff in our local co-op on 1st September!!!!

The holidays are coming!

FUCK OFF stupid red lorry and your diabetes in a bottle.

I love, seeing my family and spending time with them I don't need to spend two grand on presents and food to do so.

Xmas work dos are a major no go. My hubby refused to go to one last year as he and other directors were in the VIP section and the employees were clearly at a disadvantage... some married guy ended up sucking another guy in the cubicle. Tom decided to do only a small xmas do for the first time, no partners other than me, just a quiet evening. One of them lost his job for hitting a guy in the face because he was being inappropriate on the dance floor with the others missus.

Hubbys words - never again xmas dos are bad news

I'm a bah humbug and xmas is banned in our home haha it's just us two and the lights, electric bills etc are commercialised and a waste

That's just me xx

I don’t celebrate Christmas but it’s the perfect time to finally spend some quality time with my whole family. And I’m talking generations of them.

It’s nice.

Agreed. And a chance to put the effort in and catch up with good friends you can't see frequently.

I don't like the overly commercial aspect of it. I don't like how some people go over the top buying crap.

And having worked in, and still working in association with the NHS, I hate the mass promotion of cheap booze and sugary everything.

I just get peeved off, as I work in biomedical research - people complain about how sugar is unavoidable, and how diabetes, obesity, and obesity related cancer are horrid, yet they just encourage the market and therefore the government to make this advertisements for foods which are biochemically addictive.

Maybe I shouldn't get annoyed by others, but you see the same people on the same commute potentially adding to societies financial burden and it's hard.

Fair enough.

I come at it more from, I understand that people use food to self medicate and you never know what others might be going through.

I get that side of things, been there when I was a teenager and young adult who got bullied.

Ultimately though, we are looking at consistent behaviour by young to grown adults who display no other signs of underlying problems.

One or two out of a recognisable 3 dozen, indulging on over sugared, caffeinated drinks, very probable that there is something highly problematic in their lives. But for the majority, its a case of marketing savvy being able to override the brain's ability to put of pleasure for more worthy goals.

I'd rather not take part in Christmas, what with me NOT being Christian and all.

I like the Christmas's where we don't buy gifts or cards but just get together with each bringing food and drink....

Great time of year if you keep the commercialism out.

Surely like everything else isn't it what you decide to make it? You can turn your televisions off if all that annoys you? The decisions are yours and yours alone ... never understood it getting people so wound up!! I have friends from several different religions and, whilst they don't celebrate it at all they also don't let it bother them?

We don't have a very large family, those we are in contact with will either be miles away or pop in briefly for the obligatory present swapping. We dont have anyone to join, or anyone to particularly join us.

Its one of those days, same shit, different day except it costs more and we eat turkey.

I dont know what famillies these ads and tv programs base their christmas scenes on but I'm yet to see one familiar to our disjointed effort.

I don't celebrate Christmas. Not because I hate it, but it is because of my beliefs. As an Atheist, I would feel a total hypocrite celebrating the birth of Christ.

That said, I don't stop my children from celebrating it if they so desire. I still get them presents, and I get presents for them to give to family, and I have made sure that they understand what the meaning of Christmas is.

Fortunately, both my children have birthdays very close to Christmas, as I do, so I can make a bigger fuss of those events

All I’m grateful for is the fact that I have my loved ones around and this year will be my first with my boyfriend.

I don’t hate Christmas, I like the sentiment but yes, it is overly fake and American but IMO it’s what you make of it. I’ve all the people I love together and we’re very humble..because there’s a lot who don’t not have what we do.
