Someone just messaged me commenting on my status but I haven't put one up and I can't see one on my status page- it's blank.

Can soneone check this out for me please and confirm, as obviously I can't delete what I can't see?

That's awful OP! It's odd that you can't see it either! It's not a great status and does not correlate with the way you speak in your profile at all. It really does sound like two different people!

Can you let us know when you've hidden your profile. We can check if it's hidden then. If someone has hacked your profile, they can override you hiding it.

Changed password and username, all my phone passwords and email passwords. Deleted photos and all profile info. Currently running a Trojan programme on my phone and laptop and have called police non emergency number for advice.

Most of the time we won't know if our smartphone got hacked. But if you were on the situation that makes you believe your phone is hacked, follow this :

Turn off the internet and don't connect to any network until the problem have solved.

Notice which program is suspicious. You can take a look to your setting - app and see any suspicious permission from app there. Or you can see the app that use uncommon amount of RAM in setting - memory. The setting page is depend on your android version, but the idea is same. Look through the suspicious app.

Uninstall them.

Clear you cache.

If you find the solution above didn't solve your problem, think about hard reset your device. You will lose all your app's data, so make sure to back up just the necessary (photos, musics, or videos). Hard resetting is the safest way to get rid of being hacked, and I highly recommend it.

After fresh installing your device, be careful about the link your click and the app you would install. Check out latest security patch from google and from your device manufacturer, don't forget to always have them up to date.

Finally I hope you don't have to go through that mess and enjoy life without being afraid to get hacked.

I'm sure you'd love it if someone had access to your profile wouldn't you?

Doesn't matter how much 'attention' I get because most of it will be unwanted anyway. I'm refusing to be pushed off the site by some creep, and if that make you suspicious then so be it. We don't all react to stuff in the same way- my choice was to be sensible about it and get advice before I panic deleted my account, which clearly wouldn't have worked anyway as my phone would have still been compromised.

I hadn't even considered that my phone had been hacked, just assumed someone had got access to my profile, so posting on here was invaluable else I'd be none the wiser.

I will have a chat with my mum tomorrow- it'll be awkward but she probably needs to change her number now.

Contact your phone service provider first thing in the morning. Check around what time you noticed phone was hacked. Tell them as much info as possible. Also contact the phone manufacturer if needed because they might be able to help.
