Most days I find I have time on my hands with nothing to do and then thought how nice it would be to have a weekly, mid day, coffee meet somewhere local to wakefield. Somewhere people could meet for a chat. Do you think it would be a good idea

Sounds initially like a good idea, until you think about it a bit more.

Load of Fab members regularly in the same place?......in the silly news seasons it'll save the gutter press a lot of work tracking players down one by one. Other "unfriendlies"/neighbours and/or work colleagues or business acquaintances just might be around too.

For many people "what plays on Fab stays on Fab" is the best method.

If you're going to organise "socials" it will definitely be a case of being discreet with the when and where.

Remember how dogging got ruined once the locations/times got out to the ejeets?

Remember all those folks who have advertised a party on social media and got flash-mobbed by unwanted guests?

I have done quite a few coffee meets, in male mode of course. I found them more relaxing, as there is no pressure to do anything else other than chat, laugh and get to know someone.

There's a difference between optimism and acting foolishly.

When you're in a mine-field (and the relationship between the public, the gutter-press and swingers is one hell of a mine-field) optimism is a fools paradise!

I think you are overthinking it...

It would probably be a couple of people at best turning up in a public place for coffee...

Which is what loads of normal people do every flipping day...

Lighten up lol

I think they make a fair point. If the time and location is advertised, idiots might turn up. There have been socials advertised openly on the forum and the Press turned up. A wedding at Chams got Press attention/ harassment.

“The Secret Tea Party” has been going for 8 years.... it does work !! And its a great idea. A social is a social! As long as everyone respects the concept. We are all adults surely discretion is in all our interests... start small and see what happens.... it’s a great idea ! Go for it
