"how would I run the dvd player thru the freeview?" You could if either your dvd or freeview have a scart input and output. Otherwise you need an adapter.

"can you not run your freeview box through the DVD player. " If the DVD player has another scart the answer is almost certainly YES but most only have one.

"Or could I just switch scart leads when I want to watch a dvd?" Or you could put the freeview box through the aerial input on the TV.

"Or could I just switch scart leads when I want to watch a dvd? Or you could put the freeview box through the aerial input on the TV." Some FV boxes dont have a modulated RF output they only have loopthrough, so that isn't gauranteed to work but even if it did, you are then watching a digital broadcast remodulated at RF level analogue, thus losing the decent quality picture.

"Or could I just switch scart leads when I want to watch a dvd?" Yes, but constant chopping and changing soon destroys the Scart socket and gives rise to all kinds of shit - they are not designed for constant pulling in and out
