"The reason I have long ago stopped donating things to Oxfam shops is because I saw the article a few years ago that showed just how little of every pound raised in Oxfam shops ever gets on the ground in Africa in the form of usable aid. It's a bloody disgrace. I drop mine in at Heart/Cancer/NSPCC shops now" Exactly - the figure was something like 5% - the rest going on admin, then take the corrupt foreign governments portion of that 5% and what is left for the people for whom it is intended ?
