Body building is a very broad definition in the women’s sport from out and out body builders to body sculpting and fitness. Not keen on the out and out body builders, but the body sculpting and fitness Girls are very hot. Always liked Sharron Davis the swimmer, plus Princess Stephanie of Monaco back in the day.

Well you could call others weirdos for not looking after their body and letting themselves get out of shape. As long as you're not ridiculously obsessed then nothing wrong with working out.

Using professionals as example the earlier ones were absolutely amazing, Rachel McLish and Gladys portugese are two that stick in my mind unbelievably sexy women. Also 90s fitness girls like Lena johannson, times majovara and of course Monica Brant also very beautiful and looked a lot like the earlier bodybuilders.

Again...ridiculously obsessed.....

Define obsessed? Do you mean those who compete? Who sculpt their bodies to an impressive physique?

That's not obsession it's determination and what makes them different.

And fat shaming isn't as frowned upon as fit shaming is which is a bizarre notion considering the obesity rate in the world

Good point regarding the fat/fit shaming, also it’s perfectly exceptable to accuse someone with a bit muscle to be a steroid abuser yet if someone was to walk up to an obese person and say “fucking hell you must be on 50 cheeseburgers a day” or something along them lines there would be absolute hell on

Personally I think competitive bodybuilding is a terrible sport. Putting your body through punishment and being totally self-absorbed just so you can stand there in tiny trunks with muddy fake tan all over you to see who's got the best looking muscles. It's a vanity competition.

Though I can see the attraction to developing a better body and know how satisfying it is and that it's a good accomplishment, I just think the competition part is too much. Women taking steroids is all wrong, even men taking them is wrong and every professional bodybuilder takes them. It's not even well paid unless you're in the top 0.1%.

How many professional body builders do you know? I know quite a few and they would disagree with what you're saying.

Also if you bought a top of the range car would you show it off or keep it in the garage? When ppl work that hard they should show it off. Only 6% of the world's population has what it takes to compete. That's saying something

As a youth I had a real big crush on Heini Koivuniemi the little blond Finnish pocket rocket. She was my locker pin up girl during Basic Training. Despite her size (comparative to the other competitors) she came 2nd in 2001 Worlds Strongest woman.

Which part would they disagree with? Of course you'd want to show off your hard earned physique but getting your body fat down to 2% isn't healthy and you don't need to take it that far to stand out. On the other side of the coin I see plenty of "bodybuilders" who seem to be on an almost permanent bulking phase and have their well developed muscles covered in fat. Build a good physique, get lean and look great and that's it but some people take it way too far and the top pros are all freaks.

Nope, you've missed my point.

I could write a similarly lengthy paragraph about how football is shit. Footballers are overpaid, it's a boring, slow non-contact sport. The players lack integrity and seem to think that rolling around on the floor after being touched isn't clown like.

However, my opinion of football is irrelevant. It's a sport that many people love and is no less of a sport because I happen not to like it.

Plenty of sports pay badly (see:all of athletics) should we stop doing them?

Plenty of other sports can be bad for your body (Rugby, American Football). Should we stop playing them?

Perhaps criticise someone else's choice of sport when you are a champion in that particular sport.

criticism or opinions vary he doesn't have to be a champion at it he has An opinion on it, I don't enjoy the sport because unfortunately I don't like women to look like men but the fact that a woman enjoys doing it is fine by me

It’s appalling that in the 21st Century, the social conditioning of some people still remain like it’s the 50’s (decade used for an example)

To describe a woman as looking like a man, is one of the reasons why so many women won’t lift weights, in fear of being judged by those who have a disgusting sexist attitude.

This could also be part of the reason why the NHS report the increase in obese women.

We adore women who have developed an increased muscular physique and applaud they’ve stepped up and moved forward. We also adore women regardless of size who have stepped off the couch and into the weights room for the first time.

People are body shamed for being fat and lazy and are body shamed for being muscular, when will this end?!

""Looking like men" is a criticism levelled at women in lots of sports....but especially body building defined jaw lines veiny necks bulging biceps and no breasts just muscle

Perhaps we could turn it around and say that guys with so called "dad bods " look like women with their moobs and flabby bellies and big arses? of course you can, that's my point

What exactly was your point?you like what you like, I like what I like neither one of us are wrong

Er but saying that a woman looks like a man just because she's got muscle definition is insulting don't you think? That was my point. So not the same at all. "

for the most part they do and what's so wrong with saying a woman looks like a man or even that some men look like women, all I'm saying is I'm attracted to women who look like women, fatima Whiteread never appealed to me but Kelly Brooke does, Martina Navratilova never appealed to me but Venus Williams does, body building whether you love it or not gives a woman sometimes a pretty woman a very manly look it just doesn't appeal to me but obviously to some it does and that's fine by me x

Could we please get back to the main point? That perving over bikini-clad muscle women proudly displaying the admirable results of their hard work, is an homourable exercise?

I can understand where he could be coming from because in competitive bodybuilding, many women have taken it to extreme levels of masculinity. However, the fact remains, most of the comments are demeaning to women and sexist.

Sir, last time I checked with my wife and many of our acquaintance‘s who all compete. Being described as “Manly” is a sexist comment. Why can’t they be described as muscular women?!

If you require further understanding, ask a muscular woman if she would take offence to such comment.

I don't require any understanding I used an expression that well described how I feel they look it's not meant in an offensive way and I would probably only use that reference in a written statement, the extreme female bodybuilders don't look feminine to me, she's your wife and by the sounds of things you enjoy body building to and that's fine by me I hope you both get the maximum enjoyment out of your chosen sport, if when I look at a female extreme body builder and their look to me is manly as when you sometimes look at a lesbian couple and one of the couple looks manly that is just using the most descriptive word to describe how I feel, I wouldn't go up to them and say you look manly, I would never be deliberately rude to anyone but I'm afraid being politically correct always sometimes is a little draining

First, I said it's much better paid at the professional level. Two, I said professional football is better for the body than professional bodybuilding.

I wasn't talking just about "lifting." In fact, a lot of professional footballers spend time lifting weights.

Oh and personally I (and most other people) would find football more entertaining than a bodybuilding show, hence why it's the world's number one sport. But if you enjoy bodybuilding shows then fine.

Never had any attraction to muscles women, thinking much the same as many of the negative comments on here, until I recently spent the night with one and wow!

Her ass was incredible, her arms and legs were at all sinewey they were solid, firm and smooth and I couldn’t keep my hands off them. And her pussy was incredible! As she bucked and came it was like it was giving me a very wet and incredibly powerful blow job. I’ve never been rode so hard either.

I’m a convert!

Lol you have a point. Although to become one of those highly paid footballers you have to be dedicated and have some talent. They train for YEARS to become that good. Plus they're in the entertainment industry and as football is the world's number one sport it's awash with money. Actors and pop stars earn millions too but nobody begrudges them their earnings.

Ah that old chestnut. You don't have to be particularly talented to do those jobs, although doctors study hard and they earn good money and the top specialists earn very good money and deserve every penny. The government can't afford to pay people in those professions footballer money or the country would be broke! Some sectors pay more and that's just the way it is. If nurses, doctors, police and the military don't feel they're paid enough they can do something else. Although the reward of having saved a life or whatever is probably worth more than money to them.

This is true. Neymar is a joke with his theatrics. South Americans seem to be the worst. It's gamesmanship and trying to get the advantage. Because fouls are awarded more frequently these days (for the protection of the players) players often seek to draw a foul. Some such as Neymar obviously take it too far and make themselves looks ridiculous.

But still, the English Premier League is the most watched league in the world, hence all the money. To be fair though, clubs and quite a lot of the players do their bit for charity.

footballers etc are paid that type of money because they generate a lot of money, its common sense! its the same with tv stars, movie stars. you get paid what your worth, what you generate. if they don't get it some big wigs in the back ground would just get even more money!
