I've been blocked from sending messages for using a certain word when replying to a very dodgy message I received.I can't believe I'm the one in the wrong here????

I've had that happen to me loads .

Thing is, it says you can't sent messages for few hours but after 5 minutes the ban is gone

Wrong approach.

If the message is dodgy a) pitch a copy to admin b) don't get involved in a flame war, just block the sender.
