Do you take pride in your work?

I mean, like any job you do?

I see people that class themselves as tradesmen and do things by halves and have a poor quality of work, whereas I try and put 110% into everything I do. Do it right or not at all

What about you?

Yes, no half measures. If I'm going to do something I'm going to do it properly.

A world of my own

I take huge pride in my job. I often have to rely on tradesmen. Luckily I have a bit of a dream team who are amazing. Sadly though I've been stung by some who aren't.

I'm very passionate about my job and the work that the charity I work for do. It's also quite close to my heart. As a result I take things not going well personally.

Attitude is alot better than ability!!

Id rather have some who cant do something that trys their best of over someone who does somethin poorly!

If you’re going to do a job, do it once and do it right.

And

Measure twice, cut once

Are probably the greatest pieces of advice I ever got

Live in Scotland Play in England

Yes... To the point of doing too much and caring too much.

Which is fine until you get a new team member who couldn't care less, gets paid more for the same job, screws up critical tasks and gets away without even a slap on the wrist let alone disciplinary warnings.

Then you just feel you're a mug since management are clearly fine with people turning up, doing a shit job and taking their pay check every month.

Makes me lament not being able to stop giving it 110% and also depresses me

Sara

Hiding in the shadows

I'm self employed & I love my job.

I've always been a 100% person in anything I do though.

No point doing anything if you only put in a half arsed effort

I'm self employed so if I'm not on my A game everyday I risk losing custom, if I lose custom I don't get paid...its a great incentive!

a quandary, could you change my mind?

Always full effort and thought goes into the things I do. I know that the effort I put in isn't appreciated by some but I'm me, the great thing is being asked for by name, so some do appreciate when you give your all.

Yesterday I was suppposed to be on holiday - I had a number of emails come through that was easier for me to resolve on a quick call rather than leave it till Friday

I should t care as I get treat like shit. But do because boss is sound, and there are times when I want time off short notice or leave early to go to watch football

Today I got to hang out with Jeremy Corbyn. Today was a good day.

I always take pride in my work,

Apart from enjoying what I do, it makes a huge difference to others knowing they can enter life threatening scenarios without their kit being a risk to them.

Not pride, but I have to do it properly or people could suffer, or not get paid.

When people rely on you you have to be reliable.

I always put 100% into my work. I'd rather spend an extra 10 minutes making sure that I'm happy with the job I have done rather than rush it and it comes back for rectification.

If I make something or do some sort of craft then yes I take absolute pride in it! It had to be perfect or thrown away Geeky has seen me throw away many origami models because they’re wrong

I had a funny conversation with a bloke I work one day.

Basically he hated the company and voiced it on many an occasion, he called me a mug for taking pride in the job I did. Despite I didn't think highly of the company, that I worked for at the time.

The work you do wether good or bad, reflects what type of person you are.

As a retired engineer i know there are two ways to do a job. The right way and the wrong way 100% or it is simply wrong and no i was not a repair man
