Spend 10 snots on a decent Cava and it's a waaaaay better wine than any Champagne under £40.

"Spend 10 snots on a decent Cava and it's a waaaaay better wine than any Champagne under £40."

Couldnt agree more, champagne, any champagne is so overrated. Ive had cristal and ive had cheap champagne and it still tastes the same. I only like it with cassis.

Prefer a good cava any day of the week

I no longer drink alcohol through choice…. but even when I did… I was no wine snob… In fact I was more of a volume drinker or spirit drinker than someone who savoured the so called finer things in life,,,,,, but I must admit …… I genuinely did love the taste of real Champagne and would have drank it by the pint had it not been for its ridiculously over inflated price tag

Unfortunately I didn’t find Spanish Cava present me with the same reaction,,,, However, I did get introduced to a method champagne produced in Luxembourg which was gloriously delicious and very affordable….

That’s all I wanted to say on the matter…… carry on!!!!!

I m not a snob in reality .... and I would not avocate buying the most expensive champagne... but... BUT... there are definite differences in quality and if you appreicate fine champagne a bottle of Cava at £10 would not do... But then it is a matter of personal choice.

.

Both have their places.

If you want a Kia Royale, Bucks Fizz, Bellinni etc then go for a Cava, or any other sparkling wines.

I too have d*unk Fine Champagnes and enjoyed, Cristal, Krug, Dom Perignon etc etc and as with all wines a lot can depend on the vintage you drink.

I have also had wines made from small independant vineyards and the tastes have been as sublime as the Grande Marque houses, without the price tag.

Whatever you have, whether it be vintage, non vintage, cava or 99p a bottle from the local supermarket it is what what YOU like that is the most important thing.

I would not berate anyone for drinking cheap fizz and hope that no one denies me my occasional luxury

I drink champagne when I'm happy and when I'm sad.

Sometimes I drink it when I'm alone. When I have company I consider it obligatory.

I trifle with it if I'm not hungry and drink it when I am.

Otherwise I never touch it - unless I'm thirsty.
