What is your downfall, your Achilles Heel, as it were, when it comes to impulse spending?

For me, it's books. Electric gismos.

go to the graduate shows each year, you will soon see who the talent is and buy.... over the years as they become more well known and established.. the price on your purchase will rise.

I'm the ultimate bulk buyer. We've got jars and jars of pickled beetroot cos they were on special offer and we hardly eat the stuff! Gherkins too - feckin loads of em we've got!

I prefer Napolina Plum Tomatoes but they're a bit pricey, so last week when they were on BOGOF - old Mr Dependable Me bought fookin dozens of them!

Spent £170 today in Sainsbury's, and that's on top of the £160 we spent last weekend!

Need a bigger house.

Tinned tomatoes, 3 rashers of streaky and a poached egg and 2 rounds of white toast and a large tea on a Sunday morning is bliss (following a full blown blowjob that is) makes Sundays special.

a pair of knee high flat proper lace up boots that don't cost the earth. Had a pair from Shoezone I bought 15 years ago for £20. They were worn everywhere from clubbing to walking, looked good with everything and I loved em. Then they fell apart after being abused and I have searched for another pair ever since. Boots are my obsession as I search for my faithful friends again

Done some research and apparently dark chocolate in bar form was invented first (1830, by Fry's of Bristol), but it was Daniel Peter of Vevey, Switzerland, who experimented for eight years before finally inventing a means of making milk chocolate for eating.

So, Mr Daniel Clever Clogs Peter, it was your feckin fault that my light biege carpet got ruined in 2001 by my then 4y/o daughter who dropped a bowl of feckin cocopops on it!!!

Aah so not a personal choice then. Why do rental apartments have beige carpets when they know they are not going to stay that way. And if they are not beige they tend to be a wiered sort of blue that doesn't go with anything

I reckon 1) it because it's sufficiently neutral not to put people off and 2) the landlord KNOWS it'll get bogging and they'll be able to use that as a reason to withhold the deposit.

I would argue that they chose they colour so they must be aware that general wear and tear will occur, so as long as you get it professionally cleaned before you vacate, not spilled chicken tikka masala on it or put a cig out in it that they really don't have the grounds to retain your deposit. But Landlords are a scourge sometimes.

I also love books and if I've enjoyed a particular author then I have to buy everything they've written. Bookwise at the moment I'm buying all Karen Rose crime novels.
