you can't use the kids as an excuse not to accommodate anymore lol ... must be a real shock to your system to have free space and time to yourself after so many years.

Take a deep breath, decide how you want YOUR house, and then who you want in it.

Then don't take it out - if he still has a key then he may call round - so therefore you can only accom select people at select times

just rememember what a very good mum you were to your children.

always be there if they need a shoulder to cry on.

be proud because you raised fine children into adults through very difficult times.

i know lately we havnt always seen eye to eye grey but you'll still a fantastic woman who has been through the mill at times when we have spoken.

but your done a good job with your children and shows what a fine person you are.

well done you xx

When my youngest went off to uni I thought her sister would move in with her boyfriend: unfortunately she moved him in instead of moving out! I had it all planned: the debauchery...

Looking forward to having my house to myself before I need a carer to get me ready for bed!

It takes some getting used to i can tell you.

I felt quite down for quite a while and worried all the time but the feelings eventually lessen.

it will be strange for a few weeks, but you will get used to the peace and quiet, but be warned they will pop in and still raid the fridge and cupboards to see if the can find anything off interest to take home with them.

Dont start panicking, they tend to be frequent visitors and fridge raiders when still young

Go round to there home, leave every door open, turn every light on,run across the settee, turn the Tv on & the CD player, run up & down stairs, slam the doors then when they ask why are you doing that just say i am doing what you use to do when you were kids.

in Lancashire

its a strange feeling at first when they go off, albeit only to uni etc.

first thing one does when he pops in is to open the fridge and have a root about, nothing ever changes.

good luck with the adjusting, anyway just look forward to the day they knock on the door with a little bundle of their own....

Don't forget leave clothes all over the floor, food in the bedroom rotting, bring mates round and tread muddy footprints everywhere, play music so loud the house shakes gonna miss his stereo

Enjoy hun.

I've got 3 kids...... all in different parts of the country.

Apart from the constant phone calls on a Saturday night when I'm watching Britains Go No Talent (obviously just before they go out on the razz)..... it's lovely to have a life and just have them back for visits.

Christmas pressies get better as well once they realise just how much mum used to do for them!

"Don't worry, grandkids will be on the horizon before long if you are lucky xx"

I had just got used to my own space after my girls left home then the grandkids started to arrive (10 to date). Now again have covers on the sofa, teddies in the spare room, a toy box in the corner of the lounge and, have to remember to hide MY toys when they come to stay. Enjoy you new found freedom while you can ...
