Absolutely, think most of the other songs etc have not stood the test of time but that song will be poignant for decades still to come, sadly a much over looked love song.

"Just listening to Jeff Wayne's production, forever autumn totally blows me away everytime I hear it."

My grandfather had the 12inch vinyl and the sleeve used to scare me!

I have these lyrics in my head, "the chances of anything coming from mars was a million to one, but still they come"

Was like a nice mans singing voice

I bought the vinyl when I was in Florida back in 1997, never played it, but I do occasionally listen to the cd and lose myself in the story.

I remember it as an experiment whereby the girls and the boys would do PE together, and the nonplussed look on the face of the girls PE teacher who's job it was to make us "tell a story through dance".

Still, it got us out of cross country, although I never did find my feminine side....

It was updated and extra tracks added for the 2014 final stage tour and the Richard Burton voiceover was rerecorded by Liam Neeson.

In the 2014 stage version he played the part of the journalist and his live action sequences were done using a hologram, it was fantastic and for those interested is available on Amazon.

No one would have believed, in the last years of the nineteenth century, that human affairs were being watched from the timeless worlds of space .....

Just brilliant from start to finish (well apart from the track called Red Weed, that's a bit rubbish).

Yes it is - Jeff Wayne chanced his arm by leaving the script and a letter at the stage door while Burton was in a play in New York. While whiling away the hours, Burton had a stack of books to read and one of them was War of the Worlds. He wrote back saying 'it was meant to be' and did the recording in one day.

One of my favourite albums. Wasn't keen on the remix version that came out in the early 90s. Not listened to the last version. Thinks it's called the new generation or something like that.
