I found Facebook to be puerile beyond belief....no real conversation, but mabye I didn`t give it a chance ...

I wouldn`t be interested in a blow by blow account of someones day!..

However I heard Andrew Neil`s gone on Twitter ...I like his perspective..so I`m gona give it a whirl..

But as in all things I`ll ave to ration myself ....these online chat mediums tend to be so addictive to me ....but seems really interesting....it ain`t gona be long before newspapers are downloaded onto yer phone I heard s`well...

No i think Twitter is THE most pointless illogical load of crap so i deleted my profile

I only use Facebook to keep in touch with my kids and friends i made from another site that i am no longer a member of. To be honest i hate the silly games and applications, block the lot of them, and all the emails telling me this and that, filled my inbox with boring drivel

exactly my thinking...facebook for me is just the easiest(and cheapest) way to keep in touch with all my friends and family back in Canada. do not play the games or anything...now twitter...sorry _abio but I just call it twatter...lol...the only time I ever look on there is to see what drivel my ex has to say to all his "followers" it is quite amusing reading at times...lol

Facebook is for kids.

Twitter is 99% bollocks, but the 1% of good stuff is worth seeking out.

I use it to follow a small number of people in a specialised field which is of interest to me, and by doing that I find it very informative, giving me the inside track on some stuff I would never normally know.

And I get replies from those people to my Tweets, which I keep to both a point and a minimum.

But 99% of it is just people talking 'pmsl', 'lol' shite and telling the world that they are at work/going home/having dinner or other useless information about their daily routine.

I would say be REALLY selective about who you follow, stick to one field or topic - maybe a sport/interest etc.

And don't feel bad about unfollowing either - there are some people I'm a great admirer of, but they can tend to Tweet crap about daily life and/or self promote the latest thing they are doing.

by doing that you'll also find some amazing people related to your interest who you would never have known existed.

And there are some funny, funny people out there who Tweet awesome shit (And I say that as a funny guy..)

And don't follow Stephen Fry, he's an amazing person, but following him is a bit like being a Man U supporter in London, get a life!!

The difficulty is how to search for someone as i knew no-one nor how to search as one can only view ones own page, and im not interested in famous twats that have zilch between their ears just gave up with it as no idea what it was for, in fact whilst im not much of a fan of facebook, at least i can follow Pendulum now they are AWESOME

Isn't that the whole point of twitter - to find things and people that interest you and follow them. Not other people saying "don't follow him or her" - now THAT'S peurile.

Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else

I'm on Facebook for some random contacts with people I'm almost not in touch with...

And Twitter (anonymously) as (at first) a means of recording swinging activities. Inevitably, that branches out to the rest of my life too, but since neither my followers (3, all of whom have webcams they'd like me to watch , must get round to that) or followees have the first fucking clue who I am, that's fine.

@Sharply_Dressed if you'd like a sarcastic one-liner once every 19.36 days...

I.E - don't follow someone famous just because every other keyboard jabbing retarded monkey does it, making them feel they're part of the 'in crowd'.

Find people YOU like and follow THEM.

But not Stephen Fry. He's way more intelligent than you, and you have no need for a descriptive of his morning bowel movement.

And besides, the highly strung polymath flounces out every couple of months and says he's done with Tweeting because someone called his tweets 'a bit, well boring'.

Since my daughters added my sisters to their friends on Facebook but wouldn't add me, I've disliked Facebook.

My sister phoned saying my daughter's wedding venue was nice: she'd posted details on Facebook but hadn't told me or her dad: and we're paying for it!

On Sunday my daughter went out. My sister called and said she liked my daughter's new hair colour! Didn't know she'd gone to the hairdresser and we share a house but my sister in Milan knew: Facebook!

I use FB for family only.

I used to be quite prolific on Twitter and got up to about 300+ followers at one point but got bored with tweeting and haven't realy bothered for about a year.

I still follow about 40 select people, some friends, some job related, some celebs.

Facebook is mainly used for Family and friends. We have family dotted around the globe and it is a good way to keep up with them. Some of my customers are on there and we do have a separate "Swing" account which we rarely use.

Twitter? I must agree with the “Twatter” comment earlier. Used to have an account, but most is puerile gibberish and if you want to find comment about an event, hundreds posting the same thing! Tried following people in my special interest, but they were boring too. Tweeting about one subject matter becomes very repetitive.

Had some friends on Twitter that I thought it would be good to follow, but do I really want to know that one of them is having beans on toast for his tea? Or that he is going to see his mum tonight? One even twittered a good morning message every morning and got mad if one of his mates beat him to it! And even tried to get silly games going, like.. “Tweet your best shag”. Sounds more like the Fab forum to me!
