"On this morning on Tv theres a school teacher on about Slummy Mummies that do the school run in there P J in the morning and pick there children up again at home time in there PJ they have wrote a letter asking them to stop it, The teacher also said they turn up at parents evening in there P J. A thread just before Christmas about the school run when i got shot down for calling them fat and most of there children are fat. Just goes to show i have a point when i play hell because i can not get my car out or back in my drive" They might turn up in their pj's but maybe they know the difference between there and their and where to use full stops and capital letters.

Not sure how this story validates your previous thread?

"The school run should be so simple, drive to the school park responsibly and see the little angel through the school gates, get back in car and drive away. However for some women it appears to be a social gathering where cars traffic and inconvenience to others are just ignored. " VERY TRUE

"Heaven forbid someone might be sociable and speak to other parents. What on earth are they thinking " While their cars are parked half on the pavements or right on a corner ....wise up that's not being sociable it's just being irresponsible I live 100 Mts from a school and it's chaos, maybe buses, delivery trucks or the bin men should reschedule to avoid these little social gatherings ...

"Doesn't surprise me, if there are breakfast clubs because parents are too lazy to get up and put cereal and milk in a bowl, getting dressed when they're going back to bed is hardly surprising. That said, at least they walk them to school. Sometimes on my way to work in the dark I see little kids on their way to school alone. " Surely if they are at breakfast club they will have to get up earlier?

"When you have young children and you have to get some of them to school but you've been up half the night dealing with a baby for example, you're more focused on getting the kids washed and dressed and fed and to school on time, than worrying about what you're wearing yourself. Just throw a coat on wouldn't you? Why can't they be just typically busy mums that may have spent more time on their children in the morning than getting themselves glammed? Why slummy? " Had three kids under nine, worked full time whilst studying for a law degree. I somehow managed to get my fat arse out of bed, kids to school after they had breakfast, tidy up, prep dinner and get to work. I'm not superwoman, just not lazy and organised.

Although I've already showed and just thrown something back on, as the rest of my day will be housework. Other times I am one of those annoying mums that goes to school all made up looking glamorous. "The women who piss me off are the ones who turn up looking immaculate, with their also immaculate looking children and drinking a Costa coffee. Fuck you!!! " This is me. We are up at 6 every day. Alarm set. I shower, do my hair and make up and get dressed while he's eating his breakfast and plays with his toys for a bit. Then he gets dressed and we do his reading and spellings before we are out the door at 8. I spent a long time after I split from my ex with a very low opinion of myself and cared very little about my appearance. Took me a long time to snap out of it. Now I won't go out looking rough. I feel much better about myself for it too.

" You seem be saying that people shouldn't judge appearances? Regardless of whether they should or shouldn't, they do and they always have and always will. If I walk down the street wearing a nice, freshly ironed Nazi uniform then people are going to make assumptions about my political _iews even though I'm not a Nazi. But then it's not that hard to avoid wearing a Nazi uniform... just like it's not that hard to put on a pair of jeans.

" Some people are not up to speed with writing, there are a lot of cock ends on fab that like to play the grammar card....really just makes them look like this weeks top fuckwit.Someone will mention haribos in a minute

" I just find a lot of these comments ridiculous and snobbish on the thread. If others don't feel the need to be constantly preened and polished because they are comfortable with themselves without it, stop trying to put them down? You seem be saying that people shouldn't judge appearances? Regardless of whether they should or shouldn't, they do and they always have and always will. If I walk down the street wearing a nice, freshly ironed Nazi uniform then people are going to make assumptions about my political _iews even though I'm not a Nazi. But then it's not that hard to avoid wearing a Nazi uniform... just like it's not that hard to put on a pair of jeans. " I was defending a tired mum throwing on a coat over her pyjamas in the morning. Maybe she did throw a pair of jeans on. And the baby threw up on them. So she threw her pyjama bottoms back on. If you feel you'd need to judge her for it, then go ahead.

"The women who piss me off are the ones who turn up looking immaculate, with their also immaculate looking children and drinking a Costa coffee. Fuck you!!! This is me. Don't see why you felt the need to justify having pride in yourself. If some are lazy/can't be arsed let them crack on: go you! I don't wear make up of a day for work or on my day off. Today, I've got my hair tied back in a pony tail but it's not been brushed. I'm wearing a really old hoody. Have I got pride in myself? Yes. Do I need to get up early and wash, dry and straighten my hair then put a full face of make up on to feel I have pride in myself? Don't be silly. I prefer the extra sleep. People can take me as they find me. I'm certainly not lazy. Different priorities and comfort levels. I'd rather feel fresh faced then caked on. Doesn't make me slummy. If I don't wash dry and straighten my hair I look like sideshow bob. Plus it gets greasy at work so needs washing daily or it's minging. The make up thing- well I've got black hair and blonde eyelashes, bags under my eyes from insomnia and a child that believes sleep is for the weak and If I don't put on the basics I could pass as an extra for the walking dead. So for me it gives me more confidence and puts a spring in my step and is well worth half hour less sleep in a morning. If it makes you feel good, then great. But when others don't feel the need to do that, it certainly doesn't make them lazy. I'm really pale from tiredness with black eyes at the moment and two hormonal spots. But I'd rather just wash my face and tie back my hair and let my skin breathe. Personally, I don't even own pyjamas to do a school run in but I've been wearing an oversized hoody all day. I just find a lot of these comments ridiculous and snobbish on the thread. If others don't feel the need to be constantly preened and polished because they are comfortable with themselves without it, stop trying to put them down? I totally agree with people not having hair/make up done to perfection. Or wearing joggers, hoody, whatever. But to me turning up at school in what I slept in would just feel grubby. And I believe the article said they were going to assembly and meetings like it as,well which is just bizarre IMHO. I saw that part. Pyjamas for a parent teacher meeting is odd. The school run of a morning, I'll defend, (I wouldn't judge because who knows how crazy their morning was) the school run in the afternoon, seems unnecessary. " School runs are the work of bone idle kids being made more bone idol by bone idol parents that cannot even get it together in the morning...commonly known as tramps

"I just cannot see Pj's as acceptable for any other reason than sleeping or lounging around the house in, neither do I consider myself to be a snob, surely the other children must find it amusing to see a mum in her pj's at the school gates and I would think the child gets a right teasing during the day, it surely is worth the time to at least put clothes on in order to avoid this embarrassment to your children." Do you think these people have any sense of shame? telling them to get dressed in the morning is like trying to educate pork.

Well they probably wouldn't like little Tommy having swingers for parents but that would make them way much ignorant and judgemental than someone who thinks they're a slob for being so lazy they literally can't be bothered to put jeans on. Pretty sure all the other kids, the teachers and all the people in the street can't see that they're swingers either.

"Yeah it's fucking lazy if it's every day. What are they doing to do, go back to bed when they get home? And if it's the afternoon school run that's just ridiculous. Poor kids. " A neighbour works nights, she gets in, cleans up, puts dinner in the slow cooker, has a shower and gets in her pjs, gets the kids up and does the school run... Sometimes she over sleeps in the day and May so the afternoon one in her pjs too. She isn't lazy.. just a working mum that has to do her best. I do not care what I wear on my school run, as long as my kids go to school.

Why slummy? Had three kids under nine, worked full time whilst studying for a law degree. I somehow managed to get my fat arse out of bed, kids to school after they had breakfast, tidy up, prep dinner and get to work. I'm not superwoman, just not lazy and organised." Some parents take their children to breakfast club because their jobs start earlier than school or they have to travel to work, surely not a sign of being disorganised?

A thread just before Christmas about the school run when i got shot down for calling them fat and most of there children are fat. Just goes to show i have a point when i play hell because i can not get my car out or back in my drive" I think my kids would be horrified if their mom took them to school in her PJs. Think I would be too. Each to their own, but we have always tried to set an example of getting up early, wash, get ready, breakfast and get out prepared and ready for the day. I think if she (or even myself) didn't get ourselves changed, we would be setting a precedence that this is acceptable. It might ruffle a few feathers, but I think it's a bit lazy. I have no problem with the odd nip out in "lazy wear or PJs", but work & school should be appropriate to the environment. Equally, I tell my daughter off when she tries to sleep in her clothes or coat. I tell her to put her PJs on. Whilst I'm not entirely regimented, I do like routine and can be a bit OCD. But that's my opinion, which some will disgree with, but pretty sure some will agree with.

I am unlikely to go out in my Disney pjs but my comfy wide legged grey or black lounge wear and a Comfy top I have no issues nipping to the shop or walking the dog in.

"Love that term Slummy Mummy...describes the chavvy drivel I see walking past on a morning to a T with their e-cigs hanging out of their gobs while they text all the way up the street narrowly avoiding a mishap whilst their sausage roll munching kids run way ahead of them straight into the road in front of my car with them then screaming vile obscenities at them when seconds ago Facebook had their full attention instead of giving a shit about their kids! I have 5 kids aged 2-9 and never once have they been out of control like that. I don't know how some parents can let their kids run riot. I see it all time aswell xthey are the type of parents who will let there kids run riot in supermarkets in pub beer gardens etc expecting everyone else to look out for the little horrors whist they have a good time Double this ^" i couldnt have put it better myself well said

"I love my bra & pants and wear a clean pair every day. Doesn't mean I think it's acceptable to leave the house wearing them Put clothes on people, to leave the house! No one wants to see you running around in what you slept in. There's no excuse! None. *Her* " Very true

"The headmistress involved in the slummy mummy saga has just been on the wireless. She said not only were these slovenly women doing the school run in their pj's but they were also attending parents evening and school plays in their nightwear as well. This is when she thought it had gone a little too far and she decided to send out a letter. Who on earth turns up for their child's parents evening in pyjamas ? " Yeah, I agree. No excuse not to be dressed in the evenings at all.

I just happen to like to be comfy. Not slovenly. Checked this morning and no pjs on the school run.... And my post wasn't off on a tangent I am saying that not every one that does their school run in pjs slept in them. I wouldn't dream of going to a school meeting and as I don't even get out of my car on my school run ( 3 schools, over 12miles between them ) I doubt anyone sees me. In winter it just looks like a casual long sleaved top and in summer a vest top. Doesn't mean I don't care about my appearance or that I am lazy. As with two special needs children and two other children I do not have time to be lazy x

"Hate PJs, pointless extra clothing, needed for what? And it's the general decline in people's standards. I once saw a chap in flip flops and a pair of spongebob squarepants boxershorts, in KFC with his wife! How the fuck did that conversation go?? " Agreed with the point about pjs i have some i wear when I'm pottering about the house in the morning. For some reason the kids don't like me cooking breakfast naked

Just goes to show i have a point when i play hell because i can not get my car out or back in my drive" Cant say in the 13 years my child has attended school that I've seen a parent dressed in pjs, equally most parents arent far

" My Child went to breakfast club, nothing to do with lazy, more to do with fact I started work at 7am, so child minder took her to breakfast club, which was financially cheaper than paying 2 hours a morning for child care
