Single gents should start a clique, there is enough of you about, so that you can form some support group for each other, and to moan and groan at will without inflicting your negativity on others!

Some single gents are lovely and desirable, of course, so you can be excused for not wanting to be in that clique - you know who you are!

i have never seen a newbie 'ripped apart' on here. if we didnt have new people posting (such as yourself) then these forums would soon become very stale!

People just need to give as good as they get. my first post on here was riduculed quite a bit (by soapy and _iew - you mean boys!!) but did i cry clique??? no, i decided to just keep posting and get myself involved in discussions etc and now i am happy to say i feel like part of the furniture here

for all the newbies out there just reading for now - please dont fret about posting, jump on in

It took me 3 months before anyone took any notice of me on here.

Patience and persistence is all that's required. The same as with any group of friends really, effort is required.

It's not a case of being ignored, if someone has something to say about your comment then they will.

Alot of forum regulars have met each other at the various socials etc that are organised. That alone gives those people more of an identity with each other.

I honestly cannot remember having to use much effort in order to break the ice.

By the end of Oct 2009, I felt I knew a few peeps sufficiently well and attended my first pub social - my first Barnsley social.
