"

Hello Matey, why do you hate the term BBC?"

because it boils down everything to the lowest feature.... (this next bit is going to be hated by everyone that has BBC on their profile)

I'd rather be known for, and be defined by, something that I have full control over... rather than something I just happen to have....

so, being black, and being from the south, and knowing what they went thru is absolutely part of me, but it isn't what defines me....

I get to define the parameters of what makes me.... so i am a nice guy, who happens to be black... than a black guy, who just happens to be nice.... onus on the thing i get to control!!!

so when i see people ask for... or play up to said stereotype.. i think "is that the best you see of yourself.. and find it sad....

That's kind of what i guessed the answer would be, if I'd written that, I would have be called PC brigade or looney leftie, I tried to explain on another thread and people who fetishise Amputees, seeing their disability and not them, the person, so with you on that one.

interesting _abio must have been quite a turn accent wise bet it was quite the change moving to the U.K. ....my family came to the u.k. in the 1970s and my mother in the 1980s....

My heart dropped when I saw POC in such a bad way, knew it wasn't good.

SOB will def be out, from footage I saw it was a very clear strike.

I was very fortunate to be taken to a Bulls game at the United Centre. Everything was done superbly and a great spectacle, however as a game basketball is terrible. does it have to be properly anglo-saxon, or can it comtemptorary... because I do like "knob jockey" or "arse wipe"

Anything you've only heard over here.

I've heard English people try and use "jerk-off". Doesn't sound right."

my first ever munch/social was the nottingham social many moons ago (they managed to persuade a 3 story pub in the middle of nottingham city centre to go private function on a saturday night for 150-200 of us nutters....)

(i am going to have to explain to the youngens now that "back in the day" they use to have whole site socials where forum and chatroom would come together... and they happened 4-5 times a year so people use to travel from all over the country and make full weekends of them)

oh.... guns... me no likely....

i am all for common sense gun reform.... for example... no one really needs an assualt rifle unless you are in the middle of a warzone... so they would go!

extended magazines would go... there is not case where you ever need 30 bullets where 10 would more than solve the job!

i would limit the amount of ammo anyone person could have.... unless for historical purposes you don't need a lot of guns.... 1 for security, 1 for hunting!

the problem is that they almost turned the word "socialist" into a dirty word or an insult... which is why you hear the word "progressive or liberal" instead....

bernie is kinda taking the term back... he was always a social democrat.. he looks towards europe for the best in which can enrich the states... it will be interesting to see the other side try to say no to free healthcare and no to free university education

Just to get them out of the way-

If you like dry sracastic humour seek out the Scots! My natural hair colour is a combination of brunette/blonde/auburn. I'm asked where I get it done but I don't that's my natural colouring. Brown eyes but big smile.

As a genuine lentil/quorn eating, pacifistic, free-loving hippy I've wanted to visit Greenwich village and haight Ashbury for years but understand they don't have the same vibe any more, so where in the states does?
