If you could ....... What would ...

If you could bring back some old radio or television shows which ones would you choose ?

I don't mean rehashed stuff like Reginald Perrin, I mean the original tv or radio programs

I'd want to listen again to all the old 1970's Radio 1 Roadshows, with Smily Miley and all those up and coming whippersnapper Radio 1 DJ's

Savilles Travels - Remember Jingle Jangle,, now thn now then, as it 'appens for 1 million points" ... on a Sunday afternoon

And of course Pick of the Pops with Alan 'Fluff' Freeman - classic Radio

On the television I'd like to see all series of 'On the Bussess' "Cumon Butler, get that bus out ahh ahh ahh"

Cannot think of any others, I wasn't really much into tv ..

I used to love the Dave Lee Travis show on Radio 1 - he was so funny. He used to run a phone in quiz and I always remember one guy on it - Dave asked him "what is the name for the leader of an orchestra" and he replied "a baton"! Dave could not continue the show for laughing.

Television wise, I used to like Vision On and especially Morph. There was also a weekly programme called 'Thriller' which was a bit scary but very good.

The computer was called 'Tim'.

John, the leader of The Tomorrow People, was sooo cool back then, aided by the lovely Carol (had a mad crush on her).

Excellent programme, it was revamped in 2001 but they'd done away with the orginal cast, the belts, and TIM, and it just wasn't the same. I'd love see the original series again.

For radio: Used to enjoy DLT on Radio 1 - aka The Hairy Cornflake - his Sunday morning show was always entertaining.

Didn't the do "Snooker on the Radio" on a Saturday morning ?

He's on Magic 1152 now .. still as good as he was too, sheme he's on a 2nd rate radio station

OMG!! Forgot about 'Our Tune' - 1000's of fat hairy arsed truck drivers fighting for spaces in the lay bys so they could stop and dry the tears from eyes ..

Anyone remember 'Rosco's Round Table' with the Emporer Rosco ?

He played music that, at my age, I didn't understand - but it was cool to be seen listening to him him on the transistor radio and pretending that you understood the music... lolll

Bet you listened to 'Sing Something Simple' as well, Sunday Evening over Tea lol

Remember the 'Navy Lark' ? - Leslie Philips ? on Radio 2, or perhaps it was still the 'Light Program' in those days lmfao

And of course - never forget Radio Lusexbourg and the pirate radio station 'Caroline' ....

Round our way, the streets would empty when Dick Barton came on. And the same for (was it?) Paul Temple.

Sunday was magic for comedy radio. Navy Lark as mentioned but also things like Ray's a Laugh. Beyond our Ken. HHHancock's Half Hour. Magic stuff and never a "fuck" mentioned!

For TV, Blakes Seven. Jeez, that lass (a villian I think) with the ultra short hair. Yum yum...

I used to do exactly that except I was listening when first they played 'All shook up'. I went out the next day and bought it. My very first record.

Funny cos I never liked any of his others....

Awww but, Grummps, only a tiny bit of Elvis's music was ever heard on the radio - you should have listened to some of his Gospel music, a lot of recorded raw and unrehearsed - blows me away even now 32years on.

FFS where have those years gone ?
