Seriously how do you make the perfect soft boiled egg?

Mine always end up hard boiled or too runny

Firstly ... put the egg into the saucepan full of boiling water ... then ask the man of the house to tidy the bedroom .... 2 minutes and 5 seconds later when he's finished take the egg out ... work's everytime lol xxx

coddle them instead then....put eggs into boiling water, cover the pan and turn off the heat and let the pan stand for 6-8 minutes depending on how soft you want them. Gives you time for a shag and a wash...lol xx

I cant cook eggs as i dont eat them. My son used to go to my mums on a saturday for breakfast to have his two chuckie eggs and toast. He says im the worst fried egg cooker in the world. Good job i have other talents lolxx

Just had 2 perfectly boiled duck eggs this morning .. Yummmmmmmmy - nice and yellow inside

Took the dog for her walk and when I got back they were ready in the egg cup with the tops off, a handfull of soldiers to go with them

How long did it take ? No idea - the wife did them

this has always worked for me

put eggs in a sauce with cold water

place on heat and bring to the boil

soon as they reach a rolling boil take pan off heat but leave eggs pan

place bread under grill turn on grill

as soon as toast is done take eggs out of water and put in eggs cups

and hopefully you should have the perfect boiled eggs

Put the egg in cold water heat until the first bubble breaks the surface and then time for three mins

Before i did what i do now i was a qualified french cuisine chef 7061 7062 city and guilds lol i kid you not

Hard boiled same thing but ten mins xx

But in these days of energy efficiency, we boil the kettle, make the tea then the remainder of the hot water goes into the egg pan .... then the egg is ready quicker and you haven't wasted half a kettle full of hot water
