No chance, have you tried those flight simulators? I would hit the runway so hard that the undercarriage would buckle, the engines on one wing would then hit the runway causign the plane to lerch sideways and burst into a huge fireball.

Sorry passengers on the Ryanair flight, you should have stayed at home and had your hen do in Blackpool.

In an emergency and if (big if) I was the only option then yes id give it a go. Hopefully have some remote instruction from someone who knew what they were doing.

If it was just me and no instructions then anyone else on that plane is doomed with me...maybe they should have stepped up if they had better skills! We are landing one way or another but I think we might be going out with a bang!

Because if that's the case then definitely.

I mean...the plane may be in a million pieces, on fire and anyone on board would be queuing for the gates of heaven or hell....but the plane would certainly be on land. 🤷‍♂️

I've read in the past, and this was a while ago so if it was true then the tech will be even better, that the vast majority of autopilot systems can land a plane on it's own, it's most pilots preference to do it manually.

Do I think I could do it? Left blindly to it I'd give it a try in the hope of not killing everyone, but I doubt I'd succeed.

If I had someone to talk me through it, see above, but with maybe 10-15% better chance of success.

If you mean a large passenger jet Absolutely.... not. and anyone who thinks that the scenario from the films is actually possibly would be very disappointed.

A small plane is maybe possible but a large passenger jet is a completely different thing. A trained pilot with experience of small aircraft would struggle, someone with no training would have no chance.
