Nish Kumar - The funniest thing he ever did was to get hit in the head with a bread roll.

To be honest, I’m not a fan of most modern comedians and the glaring disparity between the standard of comedy today as opposed to in the past becomes pellucidly apparent when comparing the likes of Kumar to comedy greats such as Bob Monkhouse, Jasper Carrot etc.

All of the people that are not subjectivley funny to me / are subjectivley funny to me.

Comedy taste is subjective to the individual, the time..people at some point in the mists of time must have thought Jim Davidson was funny

I find people who are being dead serious about their views these days often funnier than real satire, because they're not in on the joke they're telling about themselves

Humour is subjective just like sexuality. Each ones perspective is just as individual as the person themselves so what you find funny/sexy others won't and don't. Humour is fluid too and changes.

Now I can't stand Ricky Gervais, generally, yet he's done some funny stuff. He also has a team of writers working with him so it's his collective that gets a thumbs down. each one has a damn sight more tin than I'll ever have and we're talking about them not them about us so they're doing something right. I'll agree with whoever about Rosie Jones though, I just can't understand her. There's probably humour there but exactly where I don't know.

I was given a ticket to see Mike Reid in Tunbridge Wells before he got the part in Eastenders, there were 40 people in a venue that holds over 800. He came on (late!) & said "fuckin popular ain't I?"

Then got us all to sit together in a lage group, with him sitting among us cracking joke after joke. Brilliant night, he was superb.

He came back a few years later but I couldn't get a ticket after he signed up for Eastenders.

He was the highest grossing comedian in the world at one point. He's worth more than many hollywood actors.

I don't mind him, preferred the likes of Sean Locke as he was absurdist, sharp, quick and occasionaly dark.

But MM appealed to a lot of people, and sold 700,000 tickets in 2012 alone.

"Michael McIntyre

I just don't get it. He actually earns money as a comedian. How is that possible.

Thousands of people disagree with you is how

When he toured the big arenas year after year they we're sold out. Average arenas seating

8,000 people

X

50 gigs in a tour

X

5 sold out tours

= 16.5 Squillion people

He was the highest grossing comedian in the world at one point. He's worth more than many hollywood actors.

I don't mind him, preferred the likes of Sean Locke as he was absurdist, sharp, quick and occasionaly dark.

But MM appealed to a lot of people, and sold 700,000 tickets in 2012 alone."

McDonalds are more popular than Marco Pierre Whites restaurant.

Jo Brand is hilariously dry. Lenny Henry is not even the slightest bit funny

Lots.

Mainly the lazy ones who lack creativity. Who think humour exists in being outrageous and obnoxious and offensive. Without any sort of intelligent or witty bones to their gags.

Yes, not to the point that I'd seek out her material, but I find her funny.

Lee Evans is funny for about 5mins.

I think with Lee Evans, what appeals to me is the cartoon effect he has with his mannerisms as well as the comedy. It appeals to my wacky sense of humour.

She did stand up before she became an actress and TV host. I don't find her funny but I struggle with a lot of American stand ups, there are only a handful I've ever liked.

Those is true. However I went to his gig and really struggled to find anything funny. The post is about personal opinion.

I saw John Bishop in Tunbridge Wells a few years ago, tickets were £40 but luckily we bought two for £40 as a couple we knew couldn't go.

It was awful, he really is not very funny!
