Are you politically correct ?

Yes or no ?

Is it a phrase you ever use / would use ?

If you do use it , what does it mean ? I'm pretty sure it doesn't mean your political views are the correct ones, maybe it just means 'relevant' in 2026 and you haven't caught up ?

No ... I never go out of my way to intentionally offend people but what is offensive and what isn't changes on a weekly basis nowadays.

Yes I do try to be politically correct.

Being involved in the kink world you have to be PC what with different pronouns and gender identities.

Its super easy to get something wrong and upset someone if you don't think first

Oh gods no.

I do my best to be socially conscious and not cause harm.

But keeping my tone and phrasing acceptable? Piss poor at that 💜

Interesting response, you are aware of what might cause unintentional offence and so adjust, but you see your own behaviour still as being politically correct not just being relevant & respectful to diversity ?

I don't think I've ever used that term unironically in my life. I'm not sure I go out out my way to be PC but being socially conscious of common attitudes so I don't come across as ignorant of other people is something I'll try to keep on top of.

My brain doesn't think in words so much as emotions, so I don't know what's coming out until it comes out. With text, I can see it and edit accordingly. In person, the word vomit gets away from me sometimes 💜

If you think, you risk offending.

I do what is right for me, if someone doesn't like that then tough. I don't care.

If you live by what others want your no longer a human being.

You are a human doing.

"Verbal Diarrhea... I suffer from that at times too Prey"

Diarrhea tends to be be a pretty drawn out process.

Vomit tends to be a one and done for me. A short burst of something unintended followed by a quick clean up. I think that's why I call it word vomit.

Verbal diarrhea sounds like it's going on a full rant. Or trying so hard to backtrack and rephrase that it's making everything worse 💜

During a job interview I put my foot in it as the interviewer was trans (female to male) and I was consciously being very nice and respectful and at some point I tripped over my words and referred to them as "you people". I meant it in the kindest way, but it just came out all wrong. I was sure that cost me the job, and I kept playing it over in my mind, so right afterwards I pretended I had been offered another job and accepted it just to avoid getting that dreaded email of rejection - 'thank you, but unfortunately on this occasion we have decided....'. Instead I got an email from them wishing me well in my new job, which didn't even exist.

I would say I'm polite.

I doubt I'm up to speed with all the PC terms, so if I am unsure if a word I'm going to use is rude, I will generally apologise in advance.

"Sorry, not sure this is even the right word...." polite, and recognising we don't need to know everything if we have manners

Exceptions apply. When someone's being a dick, I'll call them a dick.

I would say I am politically correct.

To me political correctness isn't avoiding certain words.

A lot of people use correct terminology and speak correctly but have resentment behind their eyes and hatred in their hearts.

What they actually think is far different to what they say in public.

Bad analogy = We don't steal as we know it's punishable. Take away the law and the shop doors and we'd take more than we can use in a life time.

Take away societal disapproval and many would resort to 'isms' without batting an eyelid.

I'm with the people who said they give respect to other humans.

What is politically incorrect varies according to place and time. I could give you ample examples from a youth spent in a place that institutionalised racism and homophobia

I try to treat my fellow humans with empathy, love and dignity. That's the best any of us can do.

Is it PC to refer to a man as a CIS man? I find it massively offensive if I get described as a CIS man, but if I openly object to this terminology, I am the one who's being offensive at best and transphobic at worst.
