Then it's Elevenses/Brunch.

Lunch is 12-2pm

Tea is 3-5pm

Dinner is 6-8pm

Supper is 9-10pm.

Times may vary, plus schedules. Pick 3 and stick to them.

I use them all interchangeably tbh.

I use dinner for both the mid day and evening meal quite often. But I also use lunch sometimes. I don't tend to use tea for the evening meal very often but if other people do I know what they mean.

I don't really think about it until someone asks the question.

Don't really use supper, that seems a bit of a middle class/southern/old people thing I try not to eat anything after 7pm latest.

'Evening meal'is my preferred term.

Dislike dinner on account of too many people pronouncing it 'dinnah'.

By the way, the ladies in question were called 'Lunchtime supervisors' when I was last working in education.

"Is it called Dinner, Tea or Supper?

🤔"

I was once taught, and try to observe that lunch is taken around midday to 2pm and Tea is your evening meal. However, whichever is your main meal for the day elevates or changes the description to Dinner.

Lunch is in the middle of the day

Tea is in the early evening.

Dinner can be used for either, if it is the main hot meal of the day.

Supper is an extra for fatties and those that have been doing vigorous bedtime sport...
