I'm exhausted. When I arrive home late, after a long working day, I try to relax by browsing here and having a laugh reading the Forum. But I can't help feeling like an impostor. I look at my face in the mirror, and I can't find any trace left of the sexy woman in my pics’ album.

I haven't been meeting since 2020 partly because I don't have either the time or the energy required.

I work for a small 2 person company and it isn't easy to take time off unless the business actually closes that day and I often work 6 or 7 day weeks so fab and everything connected with it has to take a back seat.

The traditional 9-5, 5 days a week takes your best time away from you. You have 2 days a week to fit in everything else (Socialising/family/hobbies/house work)

It's a grind and I hate that this is how, as humans, we have all decided to live. To work and produce and consume constantly.

I think a lot of people underestimate how mentally exhausting starting a new job can be. The first few weeks of learning new systems, processes and a whole new domain can completely drain you by the end of the day. I went through that recently myself and for a while I didn’t even want much social interaction after work, let alone trying to be witty or flirty online. Sometimes your brain is just overloaded and needs quiet more than anything else.

I'm a bit of a workaholic, so it's rare that I feel or think that work is getting in my way of something...there are days when it's not as busy so can have a scroll through fab and chat with friends and there are days when I feel so exhausted I just get home, take a shower, eat and go straight to bed, without much care of other things (except family)...so on those days I prioritise sleep and my health over anything else. If there are moments when I look in the mirror and don't feel sexy, I just try to get more rest, get more vitamins and minerals in my body, try to squeeze another work out in during the week, or just take a day off and do what I can to de-sress. I recently moved outside of London, as the pressure and fast paced lifestyle of the big city was getting to me...I also (for the first time in 5 years) decided to have Sundays off...during which, if I'm not meeting with friends or family, I just do things to unwind...jacuzzi, sauna, walk in the park or just order takeaway and watch TV all day, and I honestly feel so much better. In regards to fab or sex...I just think I got to a point where it is no longer a priority for me...if it's not minblowing sex with someone I have a strong connection with, I don't really want it...I had my "hoe phase" in my 20s and had enough sex to last me a lifetime 🤭...now I just prioritise other things

I don't think it's work. It more the bigger picture.

Prices forever increasing. Meaning you have to do longer hours and more time at work meaning less you time. Less time to do hobbies and chill.

I've been there an done 60 and 70hrs weeks. It's all bed and work and little time for nothing else. Then I dropped to a less hour's job and luckily same wages roughly as before and the difference is like right and day.

It's all about achieving a good life work balance if possible.

I know some can't for the sake of a decent wage.

Swinging now revolves around parties and holidays, mainly at weekends with parties and clubs visits.

I spend a few minutes on FAB, down times and a few minutes in the evening during adverts on TV.

On holiday use FAB more to see who's near.

All in all, feel I have a great balance.

I know exactly what you mean... farming isnt a straight forward job, if im meeting someone, I need like 5 working days notice to try pull my shit together and sort myself out, and thats all if ive managed to have a day off. I keep getting told I have a nice arse and to be honest I dont see it any more when I look at myself. I'll get the messages of "how you doing" and sometimes I want to reply with "im covered in cow shit, running on caffine and little sleep" but I just somehow crack on and hope for the best.

I can relate to this so much. I used to go to work and come home exhausted everyday, then struggle to switch off and sleep. For years I thought it was normal, that everyone else must be this tired after the daily grind too.

Work based stress is so unfair and it feels like it should be the norm when you're deep in the thick of it all.

This year, for the first time in 23 years I lost my job and for the first two days I was devastated. Once I got over the initial shock I suddenly realised this huge weight had been lifted off me, that had grown over the years so gradually that I hadn't noticed just how much it had changed me.

I've been lucky enough to find another job and start earning again and I have to admit all that stress came down to the employers I was working for. Those that dont care about their teams will load more on to them everyday without a single thought about the personal affect it has on them.

Im not telling you to leave your job by any means, but I have learnt that the difference between a stressful role and a comfortable one all boils down to how much your employer cares about you

I do think life is worth living and we shouldn't actually work. Food should be in abundance and every "job" is filled with multiple people doing the same role. Everyone works a few days just to do something productive. And then they go and do what makes them happy for the rest of the week. I'd travel the world, learning languages and eating authentic food. I'm a dreamer.

Absofreakinlutely. I took on my latest role on 4.5 years ago but the company was taken over by investors last year and the pressure has increased immensely on me. At my age, I really doubt that I could get anywhere close to the money I'm on by moving on.

I've taken a "virtual" commute, to unwind on days I'm WFH-and on days I'm in work, I'll take a coffee and cake break for as long as I need before returning home. Both sounded useless to me; until I tried.

When you're exhausted, the libido is just not easily aroused so, not an imposter. Just be honest in messages rather than forcing your sensual side and let the authentic side come out-releasing the imposter mind trap.

There are other ways but, I'm mindful of suggesting more; as what works for me is fruitless for others.

I’ve been pretty lucky in recent years, but just had the realisation that I’m not coping with the amount of work again. I’m working on my days off a lot.

I plan to have a proper sit down and find a way forward soon. Feels like a change is needed.

I think as you get older time seems to go faster and the end starts to loom. The harder you try to recapture those moments the harder it gets.

Work is so much harder too and seems far more taxing than it used to be. I work from home so from 9 till 5 I do an exhausting shift chained to my PC doing very cerebral, stuff, pausing briefly to chill on here and another well known swingers site. Recently found I have a high blood pressure problem for first time in life. I think it's stress related so think I need to give up work.I dropped to 4 day week a year ago and 3 day when 65 in september. Not sure if that will be enough. I am mentally exhausted. Time for some me time I think.

I work from home, I don't socialise with anyone, and when I'm not working, I withdraw into my little domestic shell of walking the dog and snoozing while something arbitrary plays on TV. I look at myself in the mirror and it's not inspiring - I see a lined, balding gnome. I've stopped visiting Fab more than sporadically. Not only can I not really meet (domestic reasons), but when I can, it feels like too much effort. I don't feel sexy, and this year I haven't even dressed. I guess it ends with a whimper, not a bang.

Have you considered a stress risk assessment at work? It can really make a big difference. I use them a lot for people.

It can be really hard to see the wood from the trees sometimes, perhaps in urging you to think abouy it , work realise there's an issue here.

I know its tough but I'd suggest some time off before making any big decisions

Even the best silver gets dull and needs polishing every now and then. I think most of us have periods like that. I am sure will not always be as such. Small little things to get back that mojo help even if is something just for half an hour every other day. As for work, we'll if again small changes can be made that could help. Often at work is not just the workload but lots of other stuff. I find half of my time is wasted reading emails that I should never have been copied in the first place. I hope it gets better for you.

My job is super intense when it is happening- but once the shift is over- calm and loveliness- usually in amazing places, beautiful hotels and fantastic food and drink

I think what is grinding me down at the moment is life in general. Big kids, big problems. Thinking about the future. Elderly relatives’ deaths. It’s all one after another and it is difficult to feel sexy or wanting to take the time to chat to people and arrange to meet etc.

But it is always good to make the time and disconnect from life

and re-connect with those we care about and have a good laugh.

You choose to work for a corrupt indenturing system, and by doing so you sacrifice much more than your sex life. You're a cog in that system, for them, you can be replaced, you don't matter, probably never will matter.

I totally understand the "In the area" thing, so I don't message people when I am working away. When I have been based somewhere for long periods I have met people in clubs and they have become friends.

Travel is expensive, and I am lucky in that work does allow me to travel at their cost. I get an expense allowance that covers my living costs, including weekends on long contracts. So my only expenses are leisure based

Was working on a tower and some idiot reversed through the barrier and knocked the tower over, luckily only 1 lift high, but high enough to do some damage

Yep same here , and I have no excuse as I'm self employed ! I genuinely come on here to pass time and hope I get to someone nice , but I can't do all the sex stuff lol , cos I just don't feel it

At this moment it works for me; I have low boredom levels so the transient lifestyle is working for me both with work and swinging (except in the ME). But I am starting to think a partner may be nice; one who shares this lifestyle and one who doesn't want marriage (I have 3 ex wives already)

Interesting thread..

One has to learn to listen to their body and take time outs when required..

Though one has to wonder wether our culture i the right way..

Not long back caught a youtube/tiktok video..relating a story of a nineteenth century Explorer who stumbled upon a remote primitive tribe somewhere in possibly in the Amazon..

Basically for next few years he went what today would be called going off grid as he went native with the tribe..

Search party eventually sent to find him but was that integrated with didnt leave as hadn't finished his research..when he did and it was time to return home he invited 2 of the tribe elders to join him and see how the modern world lived..

The only thing they found interesting was that were shops they could buy meat from and not have to hunt it..when they were due to leave to return home they were asked..if they had any questions..

They asked their host where he went every day as he left at 9 returned at 5..

He explained he went to work for money to so he could house and feed his family..

They couldn't grasp this concept.

As back home if someone needed a a new house every one chipped in to build it. He was working for his family but never seeing them..

Yet the tribe were with their family every day..

One wonders which culture was the right one..

Yes it definitely makes things harder. We both work nights and often opposite nights so we are both shattered and not free at the same times. On the rare times we are both off we make time for our kids which doesn’t leave much time for meets unfortunately.

Working 9-5 in an actual work environmrnt is certainly a fun blocker

When I was mobile / home based, I used to get up to all sorts in the daytime

I find very few folk want to play in the evening and I'm too far over the bridge now to be meeting folk at all hours of night

That kinda restricts meets to weekends

Your industry is particularly hard for it, I think.

I’ve been pretty lucky in recent years, but just had the realisation that I’m not coping with the amount of work again. I’m working on my days off a lot.

I plan to have a proper sit down and find a way forward soon. Feels like a change is needed.

I think you need to get out of London and move to Wales

I’m thinking to move to Bristol. Closer

Better, but I’d still recommend over the bridge and much further west. I love cities, but working in them is tough.
