Sooo many... But then again I'm pretty much always listening to music, but I have plenty of songs that remind me of different things

Playing games, driving my first car, having a laugh with my friends... Endless.

South of the Watford Gap

Texas - I don't Want a Lover

That saw me through the breakup of a very tumultuous marriage that I was lucky to survive, and it's a track I turn to whenever I have 'troubles of the heart' because it reminds me of what I survived and how resilient I am.

How about 2.

Rasputin - memories of being in flares every Tuesday doing russian dancing with my friends.

Zoe Jane by staind - reminds me of when the ex was pregnant with my daughter and we used to lay in bed feeling her move.

"On the street where you live"

When I was caring for Mum in her last weeks, I caught her a moment of toilet reflection

I was in the kitchen making her a toast & brew. I could hear a noise from upstairs, like a gentle hum

Not sure what it was, I went upstairs and she was on the loo, door open, head in her hands, eyes closed just gently singing to herself

It was my 'Queen of Sheba' moment

It broke my heart, but I never let her know that I'd seen her

Nalin and Kane - Beachball. It was playing when I first kissed my now-ex from years ago and we’d had a real love at first sight experience. The first few seconds of the track still get me every time.

Coat of Many Colours - Dolly Parton

It reminds me of my (maternal) grandmother. She used to make/fix up clothes for her kids. The song just paints a picture of how I imagine it was when she was growing up, and when she was raising her own family 🫶

Was making a cuppa and thinking this.

Buddy holly reminds me of my dad too, although he always used to have music on in the car so there's loads of others which do too, from the era of come on Eileen etc.

Me and my sister will always send a voice clip of any song which comes on randomly which reminds us of him.

That's lovely, the memories are great aren't they. Sad but a good sad I guess

Buddy Holly was my Dad's favourite, we always had music in the car too, Frankie Valli, Big Bopper, Richie Valens to name a few.

The first dance I learned was to Jive, I guess my I got my love of Dance off my Dad

Baby Mine (Disney's Dumbo). Memories of my childhood dogs, when they were pups, growing up together, taking care of them as they grew old and sick with cancer, our final walk together, and laying a wreathe on their grave. It's a beautiful song, but far too emotional. When the film was on TV we had to mute the audio when that song came on and my sister would leave the room. All these years later and the emotional affect is still the same.

It throws me right back to the 80s, and warm memories of watching Crocodile Dundee (it was VERY prominently in it, causing the song to be a huge hit) and puts me in a happy place.

Sitting on the Dock of the Bay by Otis Redding.

A long time ago my brother and I plus some assorted mates hired a cruiser on the Thames. The weather was fantastic and my brother and I were sitting on the sun deck with a cold beer and the song came on the radio. The sun was just setting, the sky had that lovely, summery red tinge to it and I remember thinking that life doesn’t get much better than this.
