"Rewatching x-files what's everyone's favourite episode and why ?"

The one after the last episode 😅🤣

In all honesty, it’s probably been over 20 years since I watched one so couldn’t say 😅

The one that terrifies Fiona and she won’t watch is the man with red eyes who squeezes down ducts and pipes. It gives her the collywobbles.

Titz Towers, North Notts

Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose s3

This is the best balanced episode ever created. You have fake psychics being bumped off and a grumpy guy with genuine powers who is resigned to not being able to change fate. Clyde Bruckman is played to perfection by Peter Boyle, who incidentally was The Monster in Young Frankenstein. Every scene he is in, he is absolutely compelling, dominating the screen, without seemingly doing very much. Like Bruckman, the actual killer is played as a low key down to earth guy, too and these provide a great contrast to the more flashy fakes. The scene when Bruckman and the killer come face to face is a joy for just how ordinary it is. There is a great use of humour in this episode, but not at the expense of the story itself. There is just so much to like in this episode. The final fate of Bruckman is particularly moving.

Titz Towers, North Notts

I always thought that this was a show that was badly hurt by being renewed on an ad hoc basis.

If Carter had been told he has 5, 6, 10 series in which to construct an arc, then both the syndicate and super soldier arcs would have made more sense.

As it was, these rapidly became confused to the point of being incomprehensible and whilst perhaps the odd arc episode could be ok, most were a dead loss.

I don't remember the details but there's a scene (possibly relating to the circus?) where Scully flips a hat? Like I said, I don't really remember the context just that it was my first realisation that I really, really fancied Gillian Anderson.

I've been slowly rewatching them over the last year or so.

Not a particular episode but I generally prefer the stand alone creature feature ones that don't tie in with the wider story lines.

Can't say I've watched the majority of them to be fair, so the one I'm about to mention probably isn't the best of them. But it's the one where Mulder & Scully visit some weird religious community were a woman gives birth to snakes.

I liked the one where Mulder wanted to believe and Scully kept trying to ground him back in reality and investigate properly. By the end of the episode Mulder was a bit more sceptical and Scully was a bit more open to shenanigans. They both grew as people.

👍

This one stood out to me a class stand alone episode. Watched them all regilously when first aired but very few stuck the way this one did.
