I think he's cunning: drawing in people with justified (and/or developmentally normal, if young) insecurities and frustrations, telling them they deserve better, and selling the answer. Big part of the rise in racism, misogyny etc imo, is the lack of good arguments.

I have seen a few of his videos and interviews: The BBC interview with Lucy Williamson springs to mind. Even though it was a hit piece interview even she admitted he has donated millions of pounds to refugee charities on an annual basis.

He reminds me of that Bloke down the Pub or in the Rugby bar who talks loud and chats shite, where people around him have a good laugh at what he says as some of it has an element of truth.

I think it's wrong he and his brother were held under house arrest for years without trial.

I find it very interesting how the media instructs people who to hate and watching people many intelligent baying with disapproval yet have not actually listened to a lot of what has been said.

It's quite a repetitive procedure of silencing dissenting voices, such as Russell Brand, Tommy Robinson, Kevin Samuels etal.

What concerns me is the number of people who simply fall into line without much primary knowledge. That to me is what is dangerous.

Andrew Tate without doubt is an classic Narcissist and has said some stupid things but no worse than many Misandrists online or in the main stream media. The only difference is that Misogyny is toxic while Misandrist is to be lauded in today's world 🌎. Both are repugnant.

B. You are muddling the term "media" as a method of communication and "the media" as a filter and gatekeeper of content. It becomes much harder to claim that we are being manipulated into believing something when the content is straight from the horse's mouth.

Well of course there are many malign influencers that serve up their content via media outlets and from which they achieve financial reward, notoriety or power. If people don't watch it, they become ripples in a pond. Calling them names is not really informed or educated. It is encouraging participation which is what they want. More clicks. Follow the money and do what we as individuals can to affect the outcomes. If you think I am suggesting putting a bag over your head you could not be further from the truth. However making a choice (as far as possible) not to have your days invaded by content that the media companies choose to present to you and then having a modicum of intelligence to appreciate that it is all led by money whether it be cuddly dogs or tate or anything else means critical thinking is required.

Swearing at people whose content is presented to us if we look for it, because we have bought into the convenience of our phones as entertainment is not going to fix anything.

There are two options. Switch it off and don't feed the beast or advocate for censorship that meets your values.

And yes I agree the influence of media and content is very powerful and is changing society and not for the better.

People being influenced by content specifically targeted to them by algorithms developed by the megalithic media companies is not a surprise at all. They are basically glorified adverts. Brand Tate is one example of many.

That's a good point well made. You could add to your list ( or martin niemollers list) people who have unpopular or differing opinions or beliefs. So long as people are forming their own opinions having first availed themselves of the facts. Rather than simply joining in an "anti" pile on because its fashionable or going to win them favours with others of like mind. That's just mob mentality and ironically the thing you are defending.

Speaking out however is an interesting concept. This is obviously a tiny little thread in a tiny little corner of the Internet . But do you consider speaking out as insulting and calling people names and blocking them or is there more to speaking out than that? And where is the boundary between allowing people to have different beliefs and speaking out and tolerance of those with different beliefs? . For example there are religions that espouse particular behaviours towards women and don't seem to be spoken out quite as readily. In a free society how where is the line between difference and tolerance.?

What is a "good man" and what is a "role model"? Not being deliberately obtuse. But what you consider to be a good role model for a teenage boy may be different to others.

That being said there are a lot of what I would consider to be good role models. Sadly by definition (mine) they do not seek clicks or content on social media platforms and so as there is less money to be made by all, they do not get the traction they probably deserve. Go to your scout group or sports club or youth centre or school, there are many many decent men and teenage boys out there.

Interesting numbers. If true surely what merits discussion is why over half of men under 35 view him favourably? . What is he saying / doing that specifically leads them to that viewpoint? Is that number UK only or Europe or worldwide? How many were asked and by whom and in what context were asked? Was it just a one question anonymous survey?

Your figures are rather misleading- these are percentages for men who had heard of Tate, not total numbers of the population, and the figure of '32%' is the highest recorded from a single study - another study found only 21% of those who'd heard of Tate had a favourable view.
