One reason is that a lot of people won't have seen your pic to fab it on the first place. You've only been here 3 weeks so you'll only be on so many people's hotlists.

I understand it's nice that others like your pictures, it's an ego boost for me & cheers me up when mine have been Fabb'd.

However, I couldn't give a monkeys todger how many times they are Fabb'd....

Many page 1 hottest pic profiles have been here for years. They have built up a "fanbase" of people and are on their hotlists.

So when they post a pic, however mundane, this pic gets straight into their fanbase updates and men will fab anything (not all, a generalisation) so quite often you'll see a fairly average pic with lots of fabs.

Getting FABs is a marketing game.

Firstly, the people who get loads of FABs have lots of followers... via friends lists or Hotlists.

Secondly, they regularly put out new pictures (usually one at a time) as new pictures generate new FABs and new "followers"

Thirdly, they time their new pictures arround the busiest times on FAB. This puts them in the news feeds (local updates, Friends Updates) at a time when the largest number of people will see them

Finally, they will add captions such as "FAB to be next" or "FAB to see more", to their picture so men think they're getting some "added value" from clicking the FAB button.
