I would say 90% of the women’s profiles on here are decent , even if they come across a bit dismissive or cynical you can see they put some thought and effort into capturing a few photographs and text that gives a bit of an insight into what they are like and how to approach them.

But the guys, 95% absolutely atrocious, one or more cock pics and some stupid text.

Why is that ?

I'd disagree with the 90% of women's profiles being decent, though the percentage is higher than for men or couples for that matter.

For a single male it helps as an initial advertisement, never assuring success, only the possibility.

My profile can be taken as quite negative but that's because a lot of men have trouble reading past the first line, meaning I need to be clear on what I will and won't do and put it in the first few lines where it will hopefully get noticed, doesn't seem to work though, it seems some guys still can't read or more likely think they are special and can be the exception to the rule. Pretty much universally profiles say what people want or don’t want. It is all about the writer. People reading profiles don’t care about the writer. They care about themselves. If a profile focuses on the reader then it stands out. Very few do.

It's a matter of perspective.

In its basic form Fab's a pick / hook up site.

If you want something more then you will be required to go looking for it. I would hazard a guess that the majority will not want that and just be looking for the easy wins. Some may not even want to hook up and are just looking for some wanking material (male and female I hasten to add).

It's my opinion that those who take the time to post on the forums are the ones who want more of a connection and go looking for the ones who put the effort in.

From a purely male point of view, I've seen no difference in having a basic profile with cock shots, to the one I've got now with more "tasteful" pictures. In fact I get more compliments from other males than any interaction from females, but that's also the numbers game we as men play by being on here.

Sorry, I don't agree. Having a good profile may be attractive to some but if the subject of that profile isn't attractive to the person seeing it, it doesn't matter if they have 2 or 20 photos, 1 line or 10 lines. Physical attraction is the deal-breaker for everyone on here regardless of a profile or how it comes across.

I don't entirely agree. Men outnumber the women on here and so there's a greater likelihood of seeing a 'poorer' standard of profile from them.

Women aren't immune from lacklustre profiles. At least you know where you stand with some men because their efforts reflect their output and they're not pretending to project anything of quality. Some women assume that a regurgitation of random sentences that make little sense even to themselves is going to cut the mustard with the opposite sex. If anything women need to up their game and stop imitating men.

In truth, not many people know how to sell themselves, and I very much doubt they will have done an honest pros and cons check.

When I first joined, many years ago, I always remember someone telling me my profile is a shop window on a busy high street, if it looks dull and dreary you are not going to get any one looking in the window let alone stepping through the door to take a further look.

The I have a penis type of profile are not exciting, as that's all it a is, and as has been said many times, once you have seen one, you have seen them all, the same can be said for the female genitalia only .

My thinking is that if all you are is a walking cock, a woman is more likely to reach for 7 inches of silicone with rechargeable batteries, as it would be a more satisfying experience.

I've just had a very quick look at the women and couples profiles in my local updates.

Of the 30 or so I looked at, 10 have no public pics and 12 have a one line bio.

Doesn't really fit the 90 percent are great belief.

We are talking about profiles...which is purely subjective...there is no specific universal standard to how a profile should look like to make it good or bad...it's just preferences and opinions...and a person's character shouldn't be judged on that. You wouldn't call a woman lazy just because she only uploaded 1 or 2 pictures on her profile and her bio reads "fill in later"...so calling men "cavemen" or "sex obsessed" just because of their profile is a bit judgmental ... which is what I believe the first comment relates to when they mentioned the word "misandry"
