"I was thinking about time earlier today. We calculate time based upon how long it takes the moon to travel around the Earth and the Earth to travel around the Sun. That gives us 24 hours per day and 365 days per year (it's actually 365 & 1/4 days which is why we have a leap year every four years). Using that algorithm plus carbon dating and whatever else they use etc etc, scientists have calculated how old our planet is, how old our Sun is and estimated how old the Universe is. Got all that? Ok, then... So let's assume we're not alone in the Universe and that somewhere out there lies another planet, not dissimilar to our own, but their 'Earth' is closer, or further away, from their 'Sun', giving them shorter, or longer, days and years. Now let's also assume that the people on that planet are of a similar level of technology as us, and that their scientists have also equated how old the Universe is - based upon their concept of time in days & years that have been worked out according to their planetary movements. With me? A million years to them might only be 500,000 to us. Or a million to us might only be 350,000 to them. See what I'm getting at? Time doesn't really exist at all, it's something mankind created to record the passing of events." And the porpoise?

"Do you loose all idea of time as you get older or is it just me. My grandad died the end of january and my mum and me where trying to work out how long ago, i said six years she said eight it is in fact 10 years. Also my sister and her husband are celebrating 10 years of when they first met this year and it seems about 5 years to me. Jay had his by pass two years ago this month and it seems like only a year. " I always used to laugh when my mum said time went faster when you reached 21 But yes I agree, its 10 years this month since my Dad died and in some ways seems like yesterday
