Smarties?

Is there something from your younger days or bygone times that you suddenly think....Whatever happened to that? Where have they gone? And why?

It doesn't have to be confectionery based, it can be absolutely anything you think of that you no longer see today....

I think they stopped Smarties due to the high amount of "E Numbers" as I recall....but I also remember that, the cap of the tube had a random alphabet letter on it....still, to this day I have no idea as to why?

"White dog poop lol"

Ooh,ooh, I know!

It's because historically dog food contained high amounts of calcium and bone meal, which turned the dog poo whiter. It now contains less calcium and bone meal, and more fiber instead

Actually that should say 10 tubes. They come 4 little tubes together. Last Xmas they did the big tube.

In fair Verona.

Smarties are in paper hexagonal tobes without the plastic lid. Still can get them.

But you can’t get Kiora in the groovy bottle.

Cap guns. Especially the long rolls where you could run your finger nail along the caps setting them off. Loved the sound, really loved the smell of them.

Confectionery, the demise of American handguns. They used to be hard, not they are verging upon fruit pastels.

An empty Smarties tube. Lid back on. Edge of the table. Slap and squash the tube, launching the plastic disc.

School boy bazooka.

You still get smarties but they've taken all the goodness out of them.

Bernard Matthews Golden Turkey Drummers.

They used to be sold in the fresh aisle and for processed food - which I'm not normally a fan of - were actually pretty good taste-wise.

They were recently reintroduced as a frozen item but they are most definitely not the same thing. Whatever the grey slimy shit they are now full of tastes nothing like turkey much less what they tasted like before.

Bring back the original Bernard Matthews Golden Turkey Drummers I say!

A quick Google shows they still exist but they are made by Bird's Eye now (I stuck the grammatically correct apostrophe in there for them). I have no idea if they're the same recipe though as I never really liked them in the first place...

Golden Wonder Pot Noodles...

The originals had soya pieces in them and dried vegetables, both of which are sorely lacking from the now Univeler-owned brand.

That said I'm quite partial to a Bombay Bad Boy with extra Tabasco sauce chucked in (BBB was not an original flavour). I'm a right mucky sod...
