With a hit of sadness?

For me it’s listening/watching my eldest play his guitar. He’s just turned 16 and taught him, I sit downstairs and just listen to how far he’s come and I just smile, not only the guitar turns out the not so little bugger can play more instruments than I knew, the sad side is he lacks confidence and doesn’t believe he’s as good as I say ( guess all kids believe we say it cause were their parent). That’s mine what’s yours?

Travel. I love it but not the realisation I have to go back to real life.

That's lovely. Does he record himself?

Mine is my son coming home, he lives in London, so while I get so excited that he's coming home for a while I know that he soon goes back again and that makes me sad

yeah he plays everything from drums, guitars and piano and records and edits it, does short covers of songs. He’s started his own music social media pages to get himself noticed and finally doing his first open mic session on Saturday.

Im lucky as I get to see my boys most days so you must be so looking forward to seeing him. X

Camping. I love the outdoors and usually get out a few times a year. My dog always loved these trips as she could roam all day enjoying the new scents and freedom she had. Sadly she crossed the rainbow bridge and being out there without her rips me apart

here there and everywhere

Seeing my kids all together and playing/interacting… one of mine is severely disabled and she can’t interact in the same way as the others but damn my boys include her and adore her so much, I’m happy I have amazing kids, all of them, but sad because I would love to just see her sit and chat with them or kick a ball etc.

Even though I was born and raised in the Southeast, Northumberland feels like my spiritual home. I absolutely love going there but cry every time we leave. Mrs xx

I love the freedom of being out on my motorbike, it feels exciting, exhilarating and a lot of fun... but I know that one lapse in concentration from me, or a poor move by another driver could wipe me out.

Gardening.

It’s all joy until the slugs come out to party. That’s when the sadness hits! 😭

I feel like I’m basically just hosting a buffet for them at this point!

Happy, About to be a grand parent!

Sad, realisation that my kids are now adults and not kids anymore. Also on a selfish note, I feel too young to be a grandparent! 😂

It’s so amazing when kids just see another child and play together, they don’t judge they just play. She may not be able to everything but it makes it more special when she does what she can x

Borders

When my daughter pulls up outside the family home. She passed her driving test a year ago, then got herself a lovely flat by the sea.

Shes just turned 20, but to me shes still my baby girl. I am thrilled she is doing so well and visits weekly, but I want her to be a child again, all living at home together

Doesn’t matter how big they are they’ll always be our babies to us.

What makes me happy?…. Truthfully - a good night sleep, the delight of not waking up at 2:47am to go and relieve my bladder is remarkable

Last night was a great night sleep… I woke truly happy

Oh I know that feeling, last night was the first time I slept straight through for ages, even woke up in the same spot I fell asleep.

When our kids are loving life, in their innocence and freedom of non-judgement. Then the reality of knowing they won't always be treated with kindness 😭💔

By the beach...

My children growing up, seeing them grow and grasping life and winning. Literally makes me weep.

Realising I've wasted mine. Never traveled anywhere, always worked too much. Now single but looking forward to grandchildren
