Had the pleasure of seeing Ozzy many times, both solo and with Sabbath. Loved him!

My fave enduring memory is Alan Yentob interviewing him for The South Bank Show or a very serious arts program like it.

YENTOB: "So how exactly did you come to leave Black Sabbath?"

OZZY: "They told me to fuck off"

Brilliant

I first saw Ozzy back in 1986 at Bradford St Georges Hall on his Ultimate Sin tour.

The final time I saw him was the other week at Villa Park.

All the times I saw him in between, both solo and with Sabbath, he was always just brilliant.

The Prince of Darkness was the most unsuitable, out of character title ever. But yet he sort of made it work. In his own mad, bunny-hopping, water bucket throwing, potty-mouthed style!

A one off. Never will be repeated.

One of the fathers of heavy metal though I always prefer the phrase heavy rock. Probably really found himself as a solo artist after his time with Sabbath. I saw him at Wembley arena in December 82 and the speak to the devil tour.

It was a short tour as randy Rhodes had only passed away in the march of that year so were only doing a limited amount of dates to promote the Album. He'll be sadly missed by a whole load of people that grew up with his music 🙏🙏

The foreword in his biography mentions his late guitarist Randy Rhoads who tragically died on tour with Ozzy in 1982. He states "I will never forget you and I hope we meet again somewhere, somehow".

Work was a struggle..

All I wanted to do was blast Sabbath and Ozzy all day...

Currently sitting here. Sabbath blasting.. reflecting on someone who has been there in my metal fandom life for 50 years!!! I got into Sabbath at 5. And have loved them and Ozzy since...

I knew there would be a day when he would go...

But shit! It's hard!!!

I hope that he's sharing a tale or two with Rhandy..

And maybe shook hands with Ronnie.
