I'm coming up to what I believe will be my worst birthday ever. So to counteract that, I'd love to hear how you spent your best birthday? Could be small, significant things could be massive blow out, something in between. But I want all the birthday joy.

Last year I turned 42 watching some epic bands in a field in Belgium.

This year I turned 43 in Cyprus drinking cocktails and visiting a cat monastery.

Both were better than any birthday I’ve had before.

Hope you’re ok OP. Sending positive thoughts your way

On my 41st I had a big bbq in my garden.

Enjoyed a great day cooking, drinking and having laughs.

here there and everywhere

My 40th was in feb, my best friend booked us a girl’s trip to lanzarote… we had the best time, cocktails at all times of day, spa treatments, salon time, parasailing, boat tours, lazing by the pool, cowboy night… it was the best birthday I’ve ever had and have decided I will not celebrate my birthday in this country again, I’ll book a holiday forever more

I hope your Birthday isnt as bad as anticipated....

My 50th was my best....it was a month long affair, spoilt by family, spoilt at work. Work had organised an afternoon tea with the whole Nursery and parents to celebrate for me, the parents Knew, I didn't. It was a total surprise, lots of tears, cuddles and presents. My boss said it was a nightmare to organise without me knowing or finding out about it. They organised it during my week off and scheduled it for the Monday afternoon when I was back at work

Family meals out, saw Simple Minds and was front centre stage, even had a wink and point from Jim Kerr had a tattoo. I went Cow Cuddling as well. It was awesome

Sounds silly but one birthday was a week day, I had booked it off, so I spent the morning with my family, then went a spent the afternoon in a model shop enjoying my hobby, before a lovely evening meal with friends.

I tend to not be that bothered about birthdays as I have some friends ones that are around mine as well so as long as I can see my family and have a dribk with my mates I'm happy

My last birthday in February, spent under the hot sunshine on Paradise island with my hubby, we took a private speedboat, swimming in the red sea with the dolphins then a beautiful meal to round the day off. Perfect 💯🐬🌞

I'd met a fwb about 3 years ago but we were still testing the waters. The year after she treated me to a night out watching the rocker horror show, with food and drinks and an amazing layby treat on the way home. That memory will stay with me until I go to my grave 😁😈

For the past few years I've gone on holiday over my birthday week.

Last year I was in Egypt, and spent the day wandering around Karnak and Luxor, and the evening belly dancing with my travelling companions, who had also arranged a cake and fizz for the table to celebrate my birthday. It was a day (and holiday actually) I will never forget!

In 2022 I was touring around Costa Rica and we happened to be in La Fortuna for the Independence Day celebrations that the town was holding - it was almost as though they had put on the parade in honour of my birthday 😆

I think those are both my most memorable birthdays.

I do hope you manage to find something positive from your birthday OP. Big hugs to you.

I think my best one in general was my 4Oth.

It was hard in a way, because I'd lost my last close family member that year, so I didn't have my family to celebrate with.

However, I went for a meal and drinks with close

friends on the night, then the next night I went out just for drinks with some other friends, in a different town.

I hope you have a good birthday op regardless and manage to find some joy.

I don’t really have one that stands out as the ‘best birthday’ tbh, so I’m just going to take it as this- my best birthday is still to come 😌

Oh, I hope you manage to have some birthday joy! 🫶

I spent my 28th birthday watching one of our favourite bands, with my husband and my best friend. The support band were actually one of my best friends favourites, so it worked out for all of us. We got to meet them outside after the show too. The only "disappointment" was not getting ID'd at the bar, so I joke that was the year I turned "old" 🤣 It was the best so far!

My best were my two last big ones, I'm an avid biker by the way.

40th was a 3 day track day at Jerez in Spain with mates. Far too much beer and laughs had

This year was my 50th, so far I've had family meals, a 5 day road trip through France, Luxembourg, and Belgium. As well as a motorbike off road day in Wales. Oh, and I bought myself a new motorbike.

Why makes your upcoming birthday seem so terrible OP?

My 40th was pretty special. A month long celebration with a gift every day. It was called 30 days of 40.

My last one was awesome too, I had a full week of hedonism, gigs, parties, sex parties and personal stuff. It was an amazing time

Tbh I think all my best birthdays were when I was still at school, most of my adult ones have to a large extent been disappointing - I try to ignore them now , so I'm probably not the best person to lift your spirits.

Should you feel like joining me in the bizarre act of celebrating getting older I'm happy to assist in trying to take your mind off it

I assume this is a typo and should say something along the lines of "sanctuary". A cat monastery is an interesting concept. I have visions of felines with tonsured fur!

Glasgow

The year I turned 25 I got a ticket to see Linkin Park. That day. Got surprised in the morning and we drove from Glasgow to Manchester and saw them that night.

Favourite band from my school years and it would turn out to be the only opportunity I got to see the band with Chester Bennington on vocals.

Second was maybe my 11th. Last year in Primary school. Didn't expect to be given the day off. It was Friday so three day weekend and I got Spider-Man and Smackdown 2 as presents. Ended up playing them all day and celebrated with pizza and cake at the end of the day

Ive had some good birthdays. 30th was my worst but 40th 50th and now 60th.

My birthday was in March and I celebrated but my final celebrations are in two weeks where 7 of my close friends are whisking me off for the weekend and I have no idea where we are going (in this country) all i know is there will be plenty of food and cocktails
