Would love people just to have conversations with.

Doesn’t have to lead anywhere. Most people near me don’t seem to be overly interested so happy to talk to people

Might make some new friends

Would rather chat with ladies but if guys have something interesting to contribute (no dicks please already have one and can look at my own if I need to)

I’ve noticed it’s difficult to get a conversation with ladies in here. Even the profiles that say “not meeting but will chat” seem to worry that the distance is an issue!..🤷‍♂️

You are right, less and less people, or at least the percentage of registered profiles that want to talk and chat has reduced.

It’s kind of more (yes/no) ghost you if they don’t like you practice everyone seems to have adopted on sights like these now.

They know what I'm going through, and we still seem to be building a friendship, which is nice; and who knows, when life is a little less complicated, we might even meet. Just to give the other side of it, whats the reason to have conversations if it's not to establish a connection to meet?

In my everyday life, I'm not a fan of having online conversations with anyone, even the people I know personally. I value connections in person, not through texting so I can't see the value of having other conversations.

And before anyone talks about compassion on a human level, I understand that. But on websites like this, very little interactions come without expectations and people can weaponise looking for 'genuine' connections when ultimately sex is the main focus.

As a younger woman I had penpals in Canada and USA. We exchanged letters on a semi regular basis and talked about all sorts of things. The net is just an updated version of that in some respects. I think as long as you're clear about intent there's no harm in just messaging.

I find that even just getting into a conversation and letting them know I am not interested in anything with them other than normal conversation, it always leads to them telling me something about being attracted to me, from mild flirting and that they fancy me to something disgusting they want to do to me/what they are thinking about doing to me... That is quite probably why you can't get conversation

I love a good chat, it's when the chat is being led in the direction of a sexual nature is when I lose interest and switch off....

Plenty of time for that, the sex stuff can be arranged after the face to face meeting, it's nice to get know someone away from the expectations and also it is revealing about the true intentions, like if you're just looking to dump a load then I'm not the person for you

Messaging is NOT conversation but on a medium where text is king it is a way of communicating that has plusses as well as minuses..... BUT

Most people , the VAST majority , of people who attempt to strike up a conversation are BORING bloody BORING.

( yes I do know what makes two south poles or two north poles repel and i'm aware I think that those who cry bored are usually the most boring people of all )

I'm always happy to chat, but very often I find that there are numerous attempts to turn it into sexting. That's an immediate turn off and tune out for me.

Then there's also the 'I'd love to chat but I'm a boring fucker and have no interest in actually finding anything out about you' brigade. You know... Those people who send you three word messages and consider that to be chatty.

Good conversation is probably the exception here rather than the norm, but it does take time and effort, which isn't always easy to find if people's priorities are actually making connections with a view to meeting, rather than conversing.
