I don't think it's judgement I think a lot of people are just saying you should think of your son over yourself for the day. It’s his 18th and you are considering doing something that has the potential to cause an argument between his parents and ruin his day and even your relationship with your son. That's really not fair on him. I feel most people here are just advising you to look at bigger picture and possible pitfalls.

Celebrate with him and give him a great birthday, put her and your obvious need to hurt her to one side and try to move on..
