No roads in Cheltenham have been cleared.... so snowed in until later.

The short road outside my house is covered in snow, and the road to work apparently is touch and go.

Only 2 out of 8 of my team made it to work, and they lived locally and walked rather than drove.

I shall be working from home as I am not risking it - had a little skid last night already!

Be safe everyone and wrap up warm!

Good morning all, hope you are fine wherever you are.

I survived the blizzard conditions last night with gallons of hot chocolate an electric blanket and Gavin and Stacey reruns on iplayer.

"text my boss to say wasnt going in but she has just rung to say she is going to try and she lives further away than me - do i stick to my guns???"

.

Yup, as the road conditions at her part of the country may be different to yours.

Besides, there are also other considerations such as the ability of the car to cope with the snow, and the driver's ability to handle the drive etc...

So if you are not up to it, then don't risk it, IMHO!

A world of my own

Morning all, thick snow here, have to try to get into work later if the buses are running as I don't drive, might take me a while to get to the bus stop, more worried about getting home this evening though if I do actually make it in.

I'm afraid if I had dogs they would have to make do with running around the garden in this weather, lol.

Seems everywhere was closed around here, she tried calling the local benefit office but no answer. She'll have to try again today. Shes getting a lift to Rhyl on Friday all being well so she'll have to take it up with them then but they are being really horrible about it. Don't they watch the weather forecasts? Thanks for asking x

Check with your employer - we're now telling people not to attempt to try and get in as the snow here is getting heavier by the min. Last year we ended up putting staff up in hotels when the weather turned.

Mine came straight back inside from the garden, so he is not bothered about not having a walk today.

He is curled up on the sofa now, bless!

Morning all !

I'm working from home today. Got up at 7 ! That's an hours lie in for me. Defrosted the car ( the lazy way ) and went for a good swim. Back home and drinking tea.

VERY icy here on the side roads. Did approx 10 mph in the dark to get there and same coming back in daylight.

Keep safe all xxxx

VIEW ! Hope you didn't hurt any important 'little' places x

In my line of work we have to keep going no matter what, so I have to try, other staff have got in but they drive so I will do my best to get in, we can't not work unless other people we rely on stop working. And before anyone asks I work in the Funeral Industry.

Around Swindon, only the town centre routes are in operation.

The road between Devizes and Swindon is not worth the bother according to my neighbour who runs his own truck rescue service.

So I shall stay at home for certain!

I am staying at home today and can work online so its not a problem. I have done the thing of struggling into work before but as in my job I am not putting anyone at risk by not being there I do not see the point.
