"Is going gluten free a weight loss method? " I think if you cut out bread, pasta, pastry etc you naturally cut out a lot of calories, if you aren't swapping them for sugar rich food.

"I've cut out most carbs/ gluten as I find it triggers my arthritis. I did initially cut all gluten out but slowly introduced oats. Not found it made much different in my weight. I cut down on my calories and started losing again. More veg and potatoes with good protein." Also, if you buy sauces check the calories in them.

But yeah, people sometimes dont count sauces or oils.

"Just wondering anyone else tried a Gluten free diet for weight loss? I'm not gluten intolerant just purely going to try this for weight loss. So any tips advise welcome. I think it would be pretty pointless going gluten-free unless you were coeliac like me, I’ve been gluten free 3 years and haven’t lost any weight (no doubt drinking as many different gluten free beers as I can don’t help), one thing I’ve noticed tho is I don’t suffer so much from hayfever nowadays

"Just wondering anyone else tried a Gluten free diet for weight loss? I'm not gluten intolerant just purely going to try this for weight loss. So any tips advise welcome. Coeliac experts will tell you that a gluten free diet for those who aren't intolerant is bad because they use more sugars in gluten free breads and pastas

I very much doubt that those that do it as a Fad diet actually follow an 100% gluten free diet anyway so makes it pointless, for me it’s a clinically diagnosed medical condition and not a lifestyle choice, I don’t have any gluten containing food in my cupboards and it’s very difficult to trust places enough to eat out

I know how it is, and it's not just gluten, you have to be careful off, barley, malt vinegars, wheat, cross contamination, touching people who have been glutonised, careful of utensils, tea towels and the dog....and yep, eating out is a nightmare....very few have separate areas for preparation and can't guarantee cross contamination.
