The Velvet Den of Desire

Imagine this: you’re offered a wild, beautiful relationship, full of laughter, passion, and those unforgettable moments. But it comes with a catch.

It will only last a year or maybe a few, and when it ends, it might not be smooth… you might even part ways for good.

Would you jump in anyway, just for the ride, the memories, and the magic while it lasts?

Life’s short… would you dare?

I pretty much had that- for about 9 months. I met them on here.

Yeah, it was worth the ride and the feelings that came with it.

That's the risk you run with any relationship, surely? 🤷‍♂️

Absofuckinglutely I would.

Relationships would potentially work better if they had expiration dates.

Some things are not meant to last a lifetime.

Absolutely yes… make the most of the time we have without worrying what will happen, if or when it will end… could be the best thing to happen, and if it doesn’t end smoothly… it was a fun ride while it lasted

Did it before and I'd do it again in a hot second.

I hate endings but I'd rather get to the end of my days a little ding'ed up and smiling hard when I think of all the hot and lovely memories, than to be left with my pockets full of regrets.

Yes, I did such a thing. My late parter was 22 years older than me and we always knew we wouldn't have as much time as some.

He died after 16 years and was ill for a short time. Would I change it? never in a million years

.

Depends who with. Some people I'd rather not fuck up things as they currently are and then lose them forever for the sake of a few months of relationship.

Sure, the romantic in me wants to say yes, of course. All relationships end at some point.

It wouldn't always be worth it.

I had an interesting one given to me from a guy.

“If she was perfect in every way, I would take a weekend like that!’

I’ve had a weekend in work that felt like a year.

But, I get what he meant.

I actually think about this a lot when I think about my old marriage. It was wonderful, but if the old younger me could ask myself what I know now, (should I get with this girl you married?) I’m not sure what I’d say.

‘When it ends it might not be smooth’ could mean anything couldn’t it so I’d need more detail.

If it got nasty, it could be very nasty & I can do without stalkers throwing battery acid over my car thanks.

So it’s a no.
