Ralph Fiennes has some of the best lines! "It's a fairytale town, isn't it? How's a fairytale town not somebody's fucking thing? How can all those canals and bridges and cobbled streets and those churches, all that beautiful fucking fairytale stuff, how can that not be somebody's fucking thing, eh?"

The Crow - The whole story behind the filming, and the tragic death of Brandon Lee just fascinated me before I'd even watched the movie. It's my all time favourite.

Stand By Me - I used to watch this as a kid with my older cousins. I just loved the whole coming of age-ness of it. I always wanted to go on a similar adventure (minus the dead body search, obviously).

Misery - Used to watch this with my mother at a very questionable age, it's still a fave. Annie Wilkes, what a catch!

Split Second, little known sci-fi set in London, quite a fun watch

Terminator/T2

Original War of the worlds

"Streets of Fire, rock n roll fable.

"

I came on here to mention this! If you look for road to hell from 2008 it's meant to be a sequel but basically crapped on the original (it's on yt)

I’ll have a look for that film, not sure I want to watch it though.

Honestly, I only watched it as I stumbled across it one day, genuinely wouldn't waste the time watching it though

It is one of my favs. If you haven't watched Road Games you should, a really young Jamie Lee Curtis and the brilliant Stacy Keach is in it, such a good film.

Everywhere & Nowhere Baby

Good to see Rocky Horror Picture Show and The Wicker Man getting a mention.

One that springs to mind at the moment is Almost Famous. Such a feel good film.

Actually all Cameron Crowe's output is top notch.... vanilla sky, I bought a zoo, Elizabethtown... never watched Singles though but I hear good things.

Pan’s Labyrinth

Tetsuo: The Iron Man

The Bullet Train (The original Japanese version)

Ring (The original Japanese version)

Videodrome

This whole thread is full to the brim with incredible Cinema, but I can't believe it took this long for Pan's Labrynth to get a shout!

I wasn't aware of the original bullet train, will have to go looking for this...

So many brilliant films have been mentioned here, although I can’t believe no one has said Time Bandits (original obviously!) yet. More modern is Ben Wheatleys stuff, Kill List and Sightseers, both great films. I saw Man Bites Dog being mentioned, for some reasons I always link that with Henry Portrait of a serial killer, another cult classic (but one to watch once only).

I was lucky as we got Moviedrome and Jonathon Ross showing so many great cult classics on TV and I used to visit the Scala a lot particularly for their all nighters. Which of course leads us to the perfect cult film for Fab…..Thundercrack!

I bloody love Sightseers nobody else ever seems to have heard of it also really enjoyed In The Earth especially Reece Shearsmiths character. I love how trippy and surreal his films can be.

Not sure of it's been mentioned but Patrick is an interesting oddball.

It's about a young man in a hospital bed in a coma, but who can manipulate events through telekinesis.

Plus it has Robert Helpmann (the Child Catcher!) and the gorgeous Susan Penhaligon in it

I saw plenty of John waters stuff at the Scale. I loved that he turned up in Black List playing himself.

Dark Star..

total cult classic.

First sci-fi genre film to use comedy.

Low budget but great for it.

Starred Dan O’bannon. Who later used his experience with the alien in dark star to write the movie β€˜Alien’
