I've met Paul Daniels, Alex Higgins a couple of times, Eamon Holmes, George Best, Terry Griffiths, Dennis Taylor, Derek Dougan, Davy Jones and Steve Collins to name but a few and every one of them were exactly like they appeared and can't say a bad word about them.

The nicest and most pleasant of the lot though was Tony Hart who walked up to me one day to ask directions as he was on holidays with his wife and he said I looked like a reliable source of information.

I chatted for over an hour in Dublin airport once with a lovely elderly gentleman and his daughter who were waiting on his son Robert to fly in. Robert turned out to be Bob Geldof and they introduced me to him and he shook my hand but said he was in a hurry to get home.

I told Mark Clattenburg he was missing a good game at half time in the tunnel at White Hart Lane as he was reffing. He smiled and we chatted briefly. Later that evening Harry Redknapp, Les Ferdinand and a few others and they were superb.

Kris Akabusi always annoyed the shit out of me, but was one of the most focused, professional and prepared people I worked with- hit most of his lines first time, banged out several tonal variations of key phrases without being asked and exactly as needed, friendly, relaxed and welcoming to all the crew and was in and out with minimal messing about or drama or ego

Guy Martin - Got to know him pretty well after seeing and chatting to him a few times on the BSB circuit. Lovely guy, talks a million miles an hour, loved the giant mug I bought him

Richard Burns - Him and his Suburu team came for tea at my Sis in Law's pub whilst I was working, he was visiting his Mum who lived locally, so lovely, chatty, polite, happy to mingle. Bought a round for the pub and left a generous tip. I managed to blag his Suburu cap and a kiss

Daniel Craig - I literally bumped into him as he was exiting our local Co-op, wasn't looking where I was going and bumped right into him, he smelt amazing and I looked up and said sorry, he laughed at me and said 'no worries, you looked distracted' I said 'no, just not paying attention' I thought he looked familiar....wasn't until I read in the paper that he was in the area visiting his Dad who lived local it registered 😊

Katie Price - She was in my village staying at the holiday lodge park up the road, very polite and smiley, I asked if she was enjoying her stay and she said she loved the area and was a regular visitor to the holiday park. Rumour has it she was visiting the Derwen College which is a residential educational facility for SEND teenagers

Having worked at Heathrow airport for a number of year's anyone who works/worked at a busy airport will tell you meeting celebrities is a very common occurrence.

Worked in many celebrities house's but I'd say the most famous was probably Dave Gilmore who was a really nice chap.

I've bumped into Beharry Johnson and 2 of the SAS guys in London. Royalty, I've met Prince William and seen Queen Rania of Jordan, who is hands down the most magnetic woman I've ever seen. Absolutely angree on the ones I’ve met. Charlotte Church is down to earth and hilarious. Once had to hold her up, because she was so hammered…..at 5pm.

JDB is also very down to earth - a dude.

Calzaghe, erm…..not so much. Likewise, Mark Williams, though I suspect he’s got better.

Bez was lovely, Stewart Lee was nice, Gruff Rhys is a dude.

Met countless rugby players - hard not in South Wales. Most have been ok.

Daniel P Carter ( bassist in a band called A, radio presenter), had a drink with him at a jimmy eat world gig, very cool and funny as hell.

Tommy Vance was very gracious when I melted into a moron while chatting to him

I used to work at the OC world neR old traffords ground in late 90's and regularly had footballers coming in to but expensive but pretty awful computers.

One day, Anthony Wilson came in. He was the music producer behind almost all bands in the MADchester scene. He was buying a LOAD of MP3 players for his staff and I asked him if he thought MP3s were goung to be popular.

"HUGE, a real game changer" he was correct.

Due to work and lifestyle I’ve hanged around with plenty. A few of my good friends are successful and renowned for what they do.

In terms of celebrities - They’re just people. disregard anything you think you know about them. You know nothing. Public persona vs private life are two totally different things.

Treat that person as if you’re meeting any other stranger for the first time.

From my perspective, and from the perspective of my friends - It’s actually pretty stressful at times and I’ve had to cut off some of my other friends who did not know how to act around “famous” people.
