Tonight's match I think will set a precedent .. England are looking good but Scotland have won the last few meetings.

I think if England can win tonight, they've got a better chance of keeping the ball rolling!

England for the win. I'm hopeful this year in the Calcutta cup.

I'm torn with Wales v Ireland. Clearly a Wales win (as inconceivable as it is right now) will assist England in their bid to win the M6N.

We also need to see Wales back up to their near best (just losing to England (hopefully controversially in the last minute)

But...

I'm sorry to say, I do like to see the Welsh getting their arses served.

Before you all cry foul. It's only because my very best friends are Welsh and when they beat the English, I am absolutely fucking pelted. It's almost personal and relentless. 😂

So if your going to win Wales, happy. But if you're going to lose. Let it be by a cricket score and don't save your best game for us.

I agree, the wooden spoon is on the cards. Even with Gatland gone, rot is rot and the whole WRU structure is broken. Maybe we'll have one of those 'free of the shackles of pressure' games and take a shock win (the U20's did last night!!), but c'mon, it's Ireland, they just won't let that happen ....surely?!! 🤞🙏🤞🙏🤞

As for the English-Bashing, that's just the result of centuries of National conflict, governmental imposition, and a more recent hatred of the perceived arrogance of the "English Rugby Mentality". I do agree though, some folk this side of the bridge do take it a little too personal and a little too far, so on behalf of all us Taff's who enjoy the banter (no matter which way fortunes are falling at the time), we're sorry for the extremists!!

Yeah!  Great game of rugby, Ireland just knew what to do to 'finish'.

Plenty of bright hope just from a few small changes to a stale squad and stale game-plan.

As Fabio said, would have been better to pass it by then.

Nothing wrong with not liking to chase a ball or an egg, but equally there are people that do like this.

Swinging is a lifestyle, a community, and a forum is a communication thread where lifestylers can tap into each others interests whether it’s in context to sex or a complete contrast.

This of course means that you’re entitled to your opinion of course, but your time posting would probably have more value in creating a fed up of football and rugby post.

Again, nothing wrong with contrasting opinions, but in context to what the OP initiated, your view didn’t really fall in line with the opening statement.

That said, neither does mine so I’ll end it with an enjoyable tournament to date, but can’t see much changing in the order of the table to last year.

Boxing later

Enjoy your sporting & non sporting Saturday all.

There’s plenty of Welsh idiots who go too far with it. It’s part of the reason I don’t go to the games anymore.

The English dish it out just as much though. When I lived in England I was always on the end of stick from colleagues and friends. Mines/Valleys/Sheep blah, blah, blah. Almost always good natured, of course, but the idea many people seem to have it’s all from our side is laughable.

Very, very proud of that performance today. Don’t see how anyone will ever get a sytraight red for head/head contact again if Ringrose didn’t.

Well done Ireland. May the best team win out if Scotland/England.

1) that’s why VDM will be your starting test winger

2) England are so scared of the pace Scotland can play at they are not committing numbers to the ruck

3) Englands centre and winger on VDM are giving him an extra 10 yards back.. to much respect and space for him to run into

Scotland were unlucky.

Good to see some fire in the dragon's belly and Wales playing with flair and passion.

Irish scrum was a shambles but I'm sure a set piece problem can be sorted in training.

France, even at home will be a tough task but Italy could be the banana skin....

I wouldn’t say wales are back… but we may have stumbled on a way to make Welsh games interesting to watch… let em play 15 v 14!!!

Anyway… same question this weekend that I ask every week

Over/under Welshman on the lions tour… if I set the number at 2.5…. More or less?

Everyone will scream Jack Morgan. Problem is he is in the most competitive position for selectors, with plenty of talent. Who else? Not seeing anyone.

It will (and probably should be) the Irish and British Lions.

We England still kick the ball far to much no we don't have the talented flair players like the French. Look at Scotland yesterday attacked with 4 5 6 flowing passes together.

Constantly Travelling With Work

An improved Welsh performance, but the issues are bigger than the coach and young squad. The WRFU need to address the issues on eligability and and promoting the game itself outside of the South Wales heartland

But if you can kick the 50/22 it's so much ground it's a know brainer ground, field position, not mush work. Win win Ierland managed it twice and scored on both occasions.

If I remembered it right..

We do have the players.

Tom Roebuck at Sale is a master of chasing the kick & winning the ball back, but Borthwick won't pick him.

With his size, power & speed he would have matched VDM yesterday but no..

Problem is that it wasn’t that sort of kicking

Play around the ruck was so slow they were box kicking it and hoping the Scottish full back dropped the ball! Unfortunately for England Blair kinghorn had a really good game! (He is on my lions plane… I think he is no. 2 to Irelands Hugo Keenan for the test spot)

The kicks were mostly going too far and couldn't be contested.

England are playing a very cautious boring style at the moment but that has to do with confidence too. Relying on penalty's to win games.

But they won a world cup playing like that too. Wilkinson kicked so many penalties it was guaranteed points.

No.. the 20 minute Red came about where offences were technically reds.. but would have been really harsh…. Think of it as a 20 sin bin, but after the 20 the player must be replaced

The “20 minute Red” can only come from the bunker… so if a yellow is given, they get to look at it to see if it remains a yellow, a 20 minute Red or a straight Red

If the ref on the field gives a straight Red, that cannot be looked at

Call me Nigel… lol

I don't think many of yesterday's players would of got into the squad that won the world cup! And apart from when Eddie Jones took us to the world cup finals we haven't progressed.

Actually I think a lot of the potential lions squad for the summer writes itself… I think for the front row forwards, we could pick 9 names and I think we would agree on 7 or 8 of them

It’s going to be the 2nd and back row that the argument is going to be.. do you take for example 4 2nds, 6 backs and 2 who could play both.. or do you look more at 5/7 specifically split?

9’s basically pick themselves, 10’s after Russell will be interesting, do you take 4 or 5 centres? .. if 5 then you take the 3 that rotate for Ireland, and the Scottish 2 Sio and Huw

Back 3…..again how many? 8 should be enough.. but do you then look at taking a Marcus smith for utility ( he can play 10 and 15)

Anyway.. closer to the time we will start the lions thread… already saving up for the New Zealand!! (did South Africa and was amazing!!) stories.. opinions.. already so bloody excited for the 10.30 am kickoffs..

Not being a full on fan, not sure what to make of England. Both France and Scotland spent a lot of time in England’s 22 and didn’t come away with much. England on the other hand seemed to score each time they got in the 22 at the other end which didn’t seem as often as their opponents. It’s all very well having lots of the ball but you gotta do something with it. Maybe England’s defence is just very good.

Looking forward to Ireland v France on Saturday, Ireland are the best team in the 6 Nations, France look the most entertaining.

Simple fact of the Scotland game was, England's defence was better than Scotland's attack. You can say about the missed kicks, but Marcus Smith missed how many against France?

A win is a win, and winning ugly can mean more than beating teams by a few dozen points.

England need to improve a lot with the ball, so predictable and regimented.

If Wales and Italy turn up, they will definitely give us a game.

So… 3 quick questions for you all

1) who wins the championship decider?

2) how many do wales lose by to Scotland?

3) how many long range tries do England concede to Italy

The bonus question as always.. how many Welshman go on the lions tour… I can be argued up to 3!

The Ireland game is too close to call. If it's dry and France turn up, they might just run riot.

I'd love Wales to turn over the Scots and I think it's a realistic possibility of they build on their last round.

England should be reasonably comfortable against Italy, they do have a decent set of backs, but not a spot on France or Scotland. England'll be boring, kick a lot, win the set piece and the game (hopefully) but it is very losable.

I think it will remain 10 as he wasn’t going forward…

I think that French clean out for the try was illegal…

You know as a player when your just beaten by a better team. But its also unfortunate that its a British Ref when France winning will help England
