...the way you see yourself? In any way. Do they see a version of yourself that you project but isn't quite you, or are you totally open but people interpret you in ways that surprise you?

In my daily life the only image I project is the true one.

Online it's exactly the same but others choose to interpret it differently.

Any compliments I receive are always without fail for the exact same attributes that some are critical of and I'm good with that.

"I am endlessly fascinated by the difference in how I view myself and how others view me. Fascinated."

Is it usually the same view other people have of you or do different people see you differently?

I think they do but I don't think it's their fault. There's a certain front that I have when speaking or getting to know people that isn't quite who I think I really am and so people can be a bit shocked when that comes out.

The image you see in a mirror is slightly different to how others see you because nobody has a perfectly symmetrical face. Obviously some are more different than others. So for the vast majority of human history, people were not able to see or indeed hear themselves as others do. It is only with recording technologies that we have been able to do this.

P G Wodehouse once said he tried dictating a book into a recently invented device that recorded onto a wax drum. He was shocked when he heard his voice. He said he always imagined he had an authoritative, headmaster style voice, but actually it was nasally and whiny!

I think there’s a variety of reasons why people that meet/know me see me differently to how I see myself.

- some of if is in part how I choose to present myself and the slight front I can initially present as a protective thing for myself

- some of it is context, for example I do some voluntary work that requires me to be more outgoing, people that meet me through that would be surpised at how introverted and happy to sit in silence I am 😅

- some of it is their own history, bias’ and opinions shaping their interpetation of what they experience into their view of me. I don’t think any two people would describe me exactly the same.

Doesn't matter cant block distances

Depends on their view of themselves..

I'm direct, I don't mince my words, I speak honestly and know myself well, so to insecure people or those who usually get over by intimidating those around them they think it's arrogance or aggressive or angry.

To those who appreciate those triggers they appreciate the encouragement, support i share. I'm probably the most caring, attentive sincere, and strongest person many will meet.

Different people see different versions of me. And it's not intentional. I've spent a lot of my life trying to fit in, at work or when I've moved house or whatever. So I mask, and I say what I think I should say, and do what I think I should do.

And it's exhausting.

On here, maybe-maybe not and I'm not that fussed to be honest. We can't like everyone and I'm cool with that.

The people I have connections with either in real life or on Telegram get a better flavour and I have some fantastic relationships with people that make me laugh every day, and hopefully I can bring a little laughter to their lives as well.

They're the people that get me really, and the people that matter to me I guess.

Ive no idea how people view me but people getting a rounded idea from comments on a swingers site is probably quite a feat, as I do "try" to keep some information private. I'd say people's online image is rarely the same as irl as it's essentially an outlet. I'm never going to meet 99.99% of people here, so it's not something that that bothers me much.
