Village near great yarmouth

I don't like blocking people, but sometimes I have to. I won't block if they obviously haven't read my profile, I will message back and point out they should read it, no anal, age restrictions etc. But if they contact again asking for a meet, I'll block. Other reasons, messages which start hello daddy, or just, Hey or Hi.

What are your reasons?

When they demonstrate that they're not my people and I have no interest in interacting with them and will never want to meet them.

That doesn't mean it's people that disagree with me. I love people who are open-minded and happy to chat and challenge me and my thoughts respectfully. I just don't like people who tell me their opinions as if they're facts. People that are so opinionated they can't be reasoned with. They "know" everything and aren't mature enough to realise their knowledge is largely belief.

People can have lits of reasons. I kkow some block incompatinle people so they don't come up in their searches. My main reason would almost always be about behaviour, nasty and abusive comments to anyone, extreme politics, disrimination, anything illegal and the odd inappropriate personal message.

Normally newbie accounts because I have a stalker ex and family that keep trying to peek, anyone that messages persistently after I've deleted/said no to/ignored etc, and people that get angry because I havent responded or I politely declined.

If someone messages and they haven't read the profile or are looking for the total opposite get blocked.

Also those in local updates that have images we find graphic.

At the end of the day there's no point someone constantly showing up on searches and viewing your profile when you aren't compatible.

1 - When people just keep messaging even though we've politely declined their interest and keep trying to iniate a conversation.

2 - People who message asking for more pictures, and send unsolicited friend requests. As single males are blocked from contacting this is usually very obviously the male half of a couple having a tug and wanting extra material.

3 - Absolutely blank profiles who demand X Y Z from you in order to chat/meet but won't give the same in return. Easier just blocking them.

It's a pretty long list but in general:

-sends me an abusive message

-sends me a message about something disgusting I'm not into

-sends me a message with a disgusting unsolicited photo

-doesn't accept no and is persistent

-looks at my profile every day even tho they don't meet my messaging filters (so creepy)

-sends multiple messages every time I log on even though I haven't read any of their earlier messages (take the hint)

-we met and I don't want to see them again and don't want them to be able to look at my profile (I will have already told them this before I block them, I don't just ghost people)

-looked at their profile and they gave me the ick in some way

Probably loads of other reasons too 😂

I blocked my first the other day. I posted a reply to her thread (she was OP) on the forum. She message me privately and opened a couple of discussion points. When I replied asking some pertinent questions (that clearly she disagreed with) she asked me, in a one liner, what my problem was. Blocked.

There was a lot of implied stuff. And I could go into more detail (generalisation) but I got the impression things were going a bit wonky.

Unsolicited friends requests is the biggest reason on the couples profile. They're warned in the profile text they likely didn't bother reading. 🤷‍♂️

Biggest reason is they don't accept "no". If you cannot accept a no online, there is no chance I'm putting myself in danger in person so I block to be done.

Second, not reading my profile and asking for an spontaneous meet.

There are 40 plus on my block list which is more than some and less than many.

I've never spoken to or exchanged messages with 95 percent of those and they are blocked either for their inane and abusive updates, their inane, abusive and condescending forum comments or because they have been asking other fabbers for my personal details.

The remaining 5 percent are blocked for exactly the same reasons and the only difference being that I have engaged with them at some stage.

I rarely block, just delete messages. Only block people who just keep persistently messaging when we have politely declined. Or people who are too graphic with messages but generally just delete the first 1 or 2. If we know a person outside of fab we'd block them.

I block generally anyone I have zero interest in if they message me, or if I message them and they have zero interest in me.

Or anyone I have zero interest in interacting with.

It makes searching easier from stumbling upon the same profiles over and over.

I've started to do it to those on the forum too, just to solidify I have zero interest in interacting with them.

I've blocked people on here whose politics is diametrically opposed to mine. Each to their own, but I see no point meeting someone who would be triggered if I said something that shattered their fragile state and I have no risk to go for a meet and find it annoying when we stray into a discussion that we end up regretting.

Having said that, the last person I blocked was an admirer who kept saying hi to me. Very nice and flattering, but also extremely circular, never going to lead anywhere and probably best for them to move on
